الاختصاص على نوعين: إعلمْ أنّ الاختصاص على نوعين: الأول طبيعي وجوهري والثاني تمثيلي وشكلي. فالطبيعي والجوهري هو الذي بموجبه اتخذ الله بتعطّفه طبيعتنا وكل خواصنا الطبيعية، صائراً إنساناً بالطبيعة والحقيقة وممارساً خواصّنا الطبيعية. أمّا الاختصاص التمثيلي والشكلي فهو عندما يظهر أحدهم شكلاً بوجهٍ غير وجهه (قل إنّ ذلك رأفة منه أو محبة) ويصطنع أقوالاً بدلاً من ذاك ولصالحه وهي لا تُنسب إليه هو. فبمثل هذا الاختصاص اختصّ الربّ لِذاته لعنتنا وخذلاننا رغم أنّ هذا لم يكن طبيعيّاً وأنه هو لم يكن قط ولا صار كذلك. لكنه اتخذ شكلنا واصطفّ إلى جانبنا. {وهذا هو معنى “إنه صار لعنة لأجلنا” (غلاطية3: 13)}.
