A - La repentance est un \u00e9tat permanent dans la vie du croyant<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Nous avons dit que le bapt\u00eame introduit une personne dans le domaine spirituel, elle est donc appel\u00e9e \u00e0 lutter contre les forces du mal qui l'attaquent de l'ext\u00e9rieur \u00e0 travers ses sens, qui g\u00e9n\u00e8rent des passions. Il doit donc mettre de c\u00f4t\u00e9 tout ce qui l\u2019\u00e9loigne de l\u2019amour de Dieu et tout ce qui le conduit \u00e0 des manifestations \u00e9go\u00efstes qui d\u00e9forment l\u2019amour de Dieu et des fr\u00e8res, afin de pouvoir rester victorieux dans sa lutte contre les d\u00e9sirs et les tendances \u00e9go\u00efstes.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Cette tentative constante d'abn\u00e9gation, se consid\u00e9rant redevable \u00e0 l'amour de Dieu et de ses fr\u00e8res, et s'effor\u00e7ant de leur rendre l'amour, conduit l'homme \u00e0 une repentance permanente et lui ouvre la voie \u00e0 la gr\u00e2ce de Dieu, tout comme la pr\u00e9dication de Jean-Baptiste de la repentance a pr\u00e9par\u00e9 le chemin pour \u00ab celui qui viendra apr\u00e8s moi \u00bb (Matthieu 3\u00a0:11), et il a dit au peuple : \u00ab Repentez-vous, car le royaume des cieux est proche \u00bb (Matthieu 3\u00a0:2). C\u2019est pour cette raison que le Seigneur a commenc\u00e9 sa pr\u00e9dication en disant : \u00ab Le temps est venu et le Royaume de Dieu est proche. Repentez-vous donc et croyez \u00e0 la bonne nouvelle \u00bb (Marc 1\u00a0:\u00a015).<\/p>\n

La repentance n\u2019est pas une urgence dans la vie d\u2019un croyant, mais plut\u00f4t un \u00e9tat permanent qui n\u2019a pas de fin dans cette vie. Ou comme le dit saint Isaac le Syrien : \u00ab La repentance est n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 quiconque d\u00e9sire le salut, aux p\u00e9cheurs comme aux justes. La perfection ne conna\u00eet pas de limites, m\u00eame la perfection du parfait reste incompl\u00e8te. Par cons\u00e9quent, le repentir reste incomplet jusqu\u2019au moment de la mort, que ce soit en ce qui concerne sa continuation ou en ce qui concerne ses actes.<\/p>\n

Nous pouvons observer cette repentance permanente dans la vie des saints de notre \u00e9glise. Il n\u2019y a chez eux aucune trace de pharisa\u00efsme ou d\u2019autosuffisance en mati\u00e8re de saintet\u00e9 et de vertu personnelles. C\u2019est pourquoi ils ont toujours v\u00e9cu dans la vigilance, la pr\u00e9paration et une profonde repentance. On raconte de saint Antoine que, devenu vieux, il dit \u00e0 ses disciples : \u00ab Le moment est venu pour moi de partir, car j'approche de ma cent cinqui\u00e8me ann\u00e9e. \u00bb Quand ils ont entendu cela, ils ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 pleurer, \u00e0 serrer dans leurs bras et \u00e0 embrasser le vieil homme. Mais le saint semblait quitter une ville \u00e9trang\u00e8re pour s'installer dans sa v\u00e9ritable patrie, alors il commen\u00e7a \u00e0 leur parler joyeusement en leur conseillant de ne pas n\u00e9gliger les ennuis et de ne pas abandonner les rituels, mais plut\u00f4t de vivre comme s'ils allaient mourir tous les jours. . Il a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab Je suis le chemin de mes p\u00e8res et je vois le Seigneur m'appeler. Quant \u00e0 vous, restez \u00e9veill\u00e9 et ne reculez pas apr\u00e8s votre longue asc\u00e9tisme, mais efforcez-vous plut\u00f4t de maintenir votre z\u00e8le comme si vous commenciez maintenant. Connaissez les d\u00e9mons qui vous menacent et sachez que ce sont des monstres, mais ils sont tr\u00e8s faibles, alors ne les craignez pas, mais laissez-vous inspirer par le Christ et croyez en Lui. Vivez ainsi comme si vous attendiez la mort tous les jours.<\/p>\n

La vie de repentance consiste pour une personne \u00e0 vivre selon ce commandement, en voyant la mort \u00e0 chaque instant.<\/strong><\/p>\n

B - Le sacrement de confession<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Nous parlons souvent de repentance lorsque nous entendons le sacrement de la sainte confession, c'est pourquoi nous l'avons limit\u00e9 \u00e0 son seul sens \u00e9troit.<\/p>\n

En effet, une personne qui est abattue par les attaques de Satan apr\u00e8s le bapt\u00eame, soit par ses pens\u00e9es, soit par ses actions, a insult\u00e9 l'amour de Dieu et de l'\u00c9glise, ainsi que l'amour des autres membres du Corps du Christ pour elle, provoquant ainsi une blessure. cela offense le corps tout entier de l\u2019\u00c9glise. L\u2019\u00c9glise soigne cette blessure en rompant la communion avec celui qui l\u2019a caus\u00e9e, pour qu\u2019elle reprenne ses esprits et change de comportement. C'\u00e9tait donc le sacrement de la sainte confession.<\/p>\n

Le Seigneur a dit \u00e0 ses disciples : \u00ab En v\u00e9rit\u00e9, je vous le dis, tout ce que vous lierez sur la terre sera li\u00e9 dans les cieux, et tout ce que vous d\u00e9lierez sur la terre sera d\u00e9li\u00e9 dans les cieux \u00bb (Matthieu 18\u00a0:18, 16\u00a0:19). \u00ab Comme le P\u00e8re m'a envoy\u00e9, ainsi je vous envoie. Il dit cela, souffla sur eux et leur dit : Recevez le Saint-Esprit. \u00c0 qui vous pardonnez les p\u00e9ch\u00e9s, ils sont pardonn\u00e9s, et \u00e0 qui vous retenez les p\u00e9ch\u00e9s, ils sont retenus \u00bb (Jean 20\u00a0:\u00a021-23).
\nLa v\u00e9rit\u00e9 est que ce n'est pas le pr\u00eatre qui pardonne les p\u00e9ch\u00e9s, mais le Christ lui-m\u00eame, avec le pr\u00eatre et le reste des membres du corps, c'est-\u00e0-dire l'\u00c9glise enti\u00e8re qui accueille le membre faible par le sacrement de la confession, et le restaure une fois pour toutes par le sacrement de l'action de gr\u00e2ce divine.<\/p>\n

L'une des pri\u00e8res r\u00e9cit\u00e9es par le p\u00e8re spirituel dans le sacrement de la Sainte Confession dit : \u00ab Que Dieu vous pardonne, par moi, p\u00e9cheur, tous vos p\u00e9ch\u00e9s... Allez en paix, sans vous soucier des p\u00e9ch\u00e9s que vous avez confess\u00e9s. pour moi." L\u2019Ap\u00f4tre Jean confirme : \u00ab Si nous confessons nos p\u00e9ch\u00e9s, il est fid\u00e8le et juste et il nous pardonnera nos p\u00e9ch\u00e9s et nous purifiera de toute iniquit\u00e9. Si nous pr\u00e9tendons que nous n\u2019avons pas p\u00e9ch\u00e9, nous faisons de lui un menteur et ses paroles ne nous concernent pas. Petits enfants, je vous \u00e9cris pour que vous ne p\u00e9chiez pas. Et si l\u2019un de nous p\u00e8che, nous avons J\u00e9sus-Christ le juste comme avocat aupr\u00e8s du P\u00e8re. Il est l'expiation de nos p\u00e9ch\u00e9s. Non pas seulement pour nos p\u00e9ch\u00e9s, mais pour les p\u00e9ch\u00e9s du monde entier \u00bb (1 Jean 1\u00a0:9 - 2\u00a0:2). Cette \u00ab confession des p\u00e9ch\u00e9s \u00bb doit \u00eatre devant ceux qui ont re\u00e7u le don du Saint-Esprit pour le pardon des p\u00e9ch\u00e9s au nom du Christ, selon son commandement (Jean 20\u00a0: 21-23).<\/p>\n

C - V\u00e9ritable confession<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Comment un croyant doit-il se confesser ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saint Jean de l'\u00c9chelle r\u00e9pond \u00e0 cette question en disant : \u00ab Montrez votre blessure au docteur spirituel. Dites-lui, n'ayez pas honte : c'est ma faute, mon p\u00e8re. C'est ma blessure. Cela m'est arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 cause de ma n\u00e9gligence, non \u00e0 cause de quelqu'un d'autre, ni d'un homme, ni d'un d\u00e9mon, ni d'un corps, ni de quoi que ce soit d'autre, mais \u00e0 cause de ma seule n\u00e9gligence. Pendant la confession, soyez comme un for\u00e7at, tant en apparence qu'en pens\u00e9e. Baissez la t\u00eate contre terre, honteux, et si vous le pouvez, versez de g\u00e9n\u00e9reuses larmes sur les pieds du docteur comme s'ils \u00e9taient les pieds du Christ... \u00bb<\/p>\n

Les paroles de saint Jean de l'\u00c9chelle nous rappellent les paroles des proph\u00e8tes de l'Ancien Testament : \u00ab D\u00e9chirez vos c\u0153urs, et non vos v\u00eatements, et repentez-vous aupr\u00e8s du Seigneur, car il est mis\u00e9ricordieux et mis\u00e9ricordieux, patient et riche en mis\u00e9ricorde... \u00bb (Jo\u00ebl 2:13). \u00ab Nous avons p\u00e9ch\u00e9, nous avons commis l'hypocrisie et nous avons p\u00e9ch\u00e9, Seigneur notre Dieu, dans tous tes d\u00e9crets \u00bb (Baruch 2\u00a0:\u00a012). \u00ab Et nous sommes tous comme une chose impure, et notre justice est comme le v\u00eatement d'un impur, et nous sommes tous dess\u00e9ch\u00e9s comme des feuilles \u00bb (\u00c9sa\u00efe 64\u00a0:6 ; voir Daniel 9\u00a0:5 ; Proverbes 20\u00a0:9). La v\u00e9ritable confession accorde \u00e0 la personne repentante le pardon de ses p\u00e9ch\u00e9s et la ram\u00e8ne \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9glise.<\/p>\n

Mais l\u2019homme entre \u00e0 nouveau dans l\u2019ar\u00e8ne spirituelle et est appel\u00e9 \u00e0 continuer la lutte pour vaincre les passions qui s\u2019intensifient avec le p\u00e9ch\u00e9, et celles-ci p\u00e8sent davantage sur lui, montrant une plus grande puissance. Par cons\u00e9quent, il doit se d\u00e9tourner \u00ab de tous les p\u00e9ch\u00e9s qu\u2019il a \u00bb. engag\u00e9s \u00bb, \u00ab observez tous les commandements de Dieu \u00bb et pratiquez \u00ab la justice et la mis\u00e9ricorde \u00bb (\u00c9z\u00e9chiel 18\u00a0:21, voir 18\u00a0:23-32, 31\u00a0:10-20).<\/p>\n

Le p\u00e8re spirituel peut imposer au croyant d'accomplir certaines actions qu'il juge n\u00e9cessaires pour faire face au danger provenant des d\u00e9sirs, afin de l'aider dans sa lutte contre ceux-ci en vue de s'en remettre d\u00e9finitivement. Ils servent de m\u00e9dicaments pour le traitement, et non de repr\u00e9sailles ou de punitions.<\/p>\n
