\"Tommaso\u00c8 uno dei dodici discepoli del Signore Ges\u00f9 Cristo ed \u00e8 chiamato il Gemello. Lo sappiamo nel Vangelo di Giovanni, in particolare, da tre situazioni: La prima \u00e8 che dopo che un messaggero venne a dire al Maestro che Lazzaro era malato, Ges\u00f9 voleva andare da lui, ma i suoi discepoli si opposero dicendo: \u00abMaestro , ora i Giudei chiedevano di lapidarti e che anche tu andassi l\u00e0\u201d. Ges\u00f9 disse loro: \u00abIl nostro caro Lazzaro... \u00e8 morto... andiamo da lui\u00bb. Allora Tommaso disse: \u201cAndiamo anche noi a morire con lui\u201d. Questa posizione indica la dedizione dell\u2019Apostolo alla sequela di Ges\u00f9 e alla testimonianza dell\u2019opera di Dio, e il suo essere un uomo di cuore che non vede le cose con gli occhi di una mente rigida, ma le vede con tenerezza.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Quanto alla seconda situazione, nel capitolo 41, dove il Signore dice ai suoi discepoli: \u00abNella casa del Padre mio ci sono molte dimore... Io vado a prepararvi un posto... e voi saprete dove vado e conoscerai la strada." Anche qui Tommaso ha parlato semplicemente: \u201cSignore, non sappiamo dove vai, come possiamo allora conoscere la strada?\u201d Ges\u00f9 gli disse: Io sono la via, la verit\u00e0 e la vita". Comprendiamo che Tommaso \u00e8 una persona realistica, sensuale, che cerca la comprensione e non vuole che le parole del Maestro passino inosservate. Quindi chiede e chiarisce.<\/p>\n

La terza posizione \u00e8 rappresentata dall\u2019insistenza del Messaggero nel mettere la mano nel fianco del Maestro. Nel capitolo 20, Tommaso era assente quando Ges\u00f9, risorto dai morti, si rec\u00f2 dove erano riuniti i discepoli. Quando venne Tommaso, obiett\u00f2 e disse: \u201cSe non vedo il segno dei chiodi nella sua mano e non metto il mio dito nel segno dei chiodi e non metto la mia mano nel suo costato, non creder\u00f2\u201d. Otto giorni dopo, Ges\u00f9 venne di nuovo, prese la mano di Tommaso e gliela pose sul costato, seguendo i segni dei chiodi, e gli disse: "...Non essere incredulo, ma credente. Tommaso gli rispose". , \u201cMio Signore e mio Dio\u201d. Thomas, che ha mostrato testardaggine, \u00e8 stato schiacciato fino ai limiti estremi della rottura. Vedeva Ges\u00f9 nella sua carne e nelle sue ossa ed era certo che non fosse un'illusione. I Padri dicono di Tommaso che egli insisteva nel vedere il Maestro per nostalgia, e questo non \u00e8 motivo di dubbio o di mancanza di onest\u00e0.<\/p>\n

La tradizione della Chiesa dice che fu il primo a predicare in India. I dettagli del suo messaggio non sono fissi. Sappiamo solo che ha guidato molti alla luce divina. Ha anche una menzione illustre tra gli etiopi, e si dice che abbia predicato la buona novella ai persiani e sia arrivato in Cina<\/p>\n

Qui presentiamo una narrazione che \u00e8 stata tramandata di generazione in generazione sull'apostolo Tommaso - questa narrazione non ha necessariamente alcuna validit\u00e0 storica - per i suoi significati spirituali.<\/p>\n

Si dice che un re indiano di nome Gundavor decise di costruirsi un grande palazzo diverso da qualsiasi altro sulla terra, quindi invi\u00f2 uno dei suoi assistenti alla ricerca di lavoratori qualificati in grado di farlo. Per divina provvidenza, il messaggero del re and\u00f2 da Tommaso, il quale gli disse che era pronto a costruire un palazzo del genere per il re a condizione che gli lasciasse fare ci\u00f2 che voleva. I due furono d'accordo e Thomas si rec\u00f2 nella Terra del Nahd. L\u00ec, Tommaso ottenne una grande quantit\u00e0 di oro dal re per iniziare a costruire il palazzo. Non appena Tommaso lasci\u00f2 il palazzo reale, distribu\u00ec tutto l'oro che aveva ai poveri dell'India e inizi\u00f2 a predicare il Vangelo. Passarono due anni e il re mand\u00f2 i suoi servi a Tommaso per chiedergli se avesse finito di costruire il palazzo o no, perch\u00e9 il palazzo era lontano dalla capitale Tommaso rispose: \u201cTutto \u00e8 pronto tranne il tetto\u201d. Chiese pi\u00f9 soldi e il re gli diede quello che voleva. Ancora una volta Tommaso don\u00f2 tutto ci\u00f2 che aveva ai poveri e continu\u00f2 il suo girovagare predicando il Vangelo. In qualche modo, la notizia arriv\u00f2 al re che Tommaso non aveva ancora iniziato a costruire il palazzo, cos\u00ec lo arrest\u00f2 e lo mise in prigione. Quella notte il fratello del re mor\u00ec e il re lo pianse profondamente. Un angelo port\u00f2 l'anima del defunto in Paradiso e gli mostr\u00f2 un palazzo meraviglioso che nessuna mente umana poteva immaginare. Quando il fratello del re volle entrare in questo palazzo, l\u2019angelo glielo imped\u00ec, dicendo: \u201cQuesto palazzo appartiene al re tuo fratello, ed \u00e8 il palazzo che l\u2019apostolo Tommaso gli costru\u00ec con le buone opere che gli aveva donato\u201d. Allora l'angelo del Signore restitu\u00ec l'anima dell'uomo al suo corpo. Quando il fratello del re torn\u00f2 in s\u00e9, corse dal fratello e gli disse: "Giurami che mi darai tutto quello che ti chieder\u00f2". palazzo che hai in cielo, che Tommaso ti ha costruito\u00bb, e gli spieg\u00f2 tutto quello che era successo. Allora il re mand\u00f2 a liberare Tommaso dalla prigione e lo condusse da lui e ascolt\u00f2 da lui le parole di salvezza e di vita eterna fu battezzato e gli diede pi\u00f9 soldi per ampliare il palazzo che gli aveva costruito in cielo. Cos\u00ec sono aumentati gli atti di misericordia, \u00e8 aumentata la gratitudine a Dio, si \u00e8 ampliata la portata della buona notizia della Parola di vita.<\/p>\n
