Il primo credente fu battezzato dalle sue mani nel 1868, e quattro anni successivamente furono ordinati sacerdoti due ortodossi giapponesi. O un vescovo giapponese, \u201cJan Ono\u201d, che era vedovo e genero del primo convertito giapponese.
