يقول السيد له المجد: "... لأن من نظر إلى امرأة ليشتهيه، فقد زنى بها في قلبه"(متى5: 28). يسوع لا يجعل الخطيئة مجرد النظر، إنما في النظر المقترن بالشهوة. كذلك فإنه لا يقول لنا "لا تنظر". إنما "من نظر"، وفي هذا كل الاحترام لحريتنا وقراراتنا (16).
