Ejeren af Masyaf sluttede fred med dem, s\u00e5 de rykkede frem til Refniyeh og gik derfra ned til Peqi&#039;in. Den otteogtyvende januar 1099 angreb de det kurdiske fort og erobrede det. Ejeren af Hama skrev til dem. Ejeren af Tripoli, Jalal al-Malik Abu al-Hasan Ibn Ammar, bad dem sende en delegation til at forhandle og bekr\u00e6ftede, at han var parat til at hejse Raymond af Toulouses flag. Raymond modtog et brev fra Filosofferne Alexios, hvori det stod, at han ville slutte sig til dem om sommeren i spidsen for en st\u00e6rk h\u00e6r, og at interessen var at vente p\u00e5 ham, f\u00f8r han angreb Pal\u00e6stina. Men de fleste af prinserne og flertallet af krigerne valgte at rykke frem og ikke vente. S\u00e5 vendte de mod Ramla og fandt et tomt sted, s\u00e5 de begyndte at bestige bakkerne til Det Hellige Hus den syvende dag i juni.<\/p>\n<p>Jerusalem havde v\u00e6ret i fatimidernes h\u00e6nder i kort tid. De var repr\u00e6senteret af Al-Fadl Ibn Badr Al-Jamali. Dens garnison var sudanesisk araber. Frankerne belejrede det i mere end fyrre dage og rejste to t\u00e5rne over det. S\u00e5 stormede de det fra den nordlige side og besatte det i en hel uge. En gruppe muslimer s\u00f8gte tilflugt i Davids helligdom og s\u00f8gte ly i den. Frankerne gav dem sikkerhed, s\u00e5 de overgav ham til dem og drog af sted til Ashkelon i sikkerhed.
