Seine Mutter, Epiphanius, war seinem Vater an gutem Benehmen mehr als ebenb\u00fcrtig. Da ihnen jedoch die Kinder fehlten, verlie\u00dfen sie die Kirche nicht, ohne sie zu besuchen, um die Gnade ihres Herrn zu erbitten und Ihn anzuflehen, ihnen, wenn m\u00f6glich, die Frucht des Mutterleibs zu schenken. Als seit ihrer Hochzeit dreiundf\u00fcnfzig Jahre vergangen waren, wurde Epiphanius im Traum von einem Engel besucht und sagte zu ihr: \u201eSei stark, Frau, denn Gott hat dir einen Sohn gegeben, dessen Name in den L\u00e4ndern unter der Sonne bekannt gemacht wird.\u201c . Und nachdem sie schwanger war, gebar sie einen Sohn und gab ihm den Namen, wie der Engel zu ihr sagte: Asia (was ich in die griechische Sprache \u00fcbersetzte, ist der Arzt) Asia wurde durch reine B\u00fccher gelehrt und praktizierte Grammatik, Logik, und Philosophie. Er wuchs an Anmut und Statur. Sein Geist war erleuchtet.<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>Daher eignete er sich in kurzer Zeit ein gro\u00dfes Wissen an. Sein Vater heiratete ihn mit der Tochter eines Pfarrers, doch bevor seine Hochzeitsfeierlichkeiten zu Ende waren, lie\u00df er alles zur\u00fcck und machte sich auf die Suche nach dem Angesicht seines Herrn. Unterwegs traf er einen armen Mann und tauschte mit ihm Kleidung. Er setzte seine Reise flei\u00dfig fort, bis er ein Kloster erreichte, das von einem Priester namens Thomas geleitet wurde, wo er sieben Jahre lang als k\u00e4mpfender M\u00f6nch blieb. Danach ging er zum Berg Sinai und kam zu einem Mann, einem Freund Gottes, der \u201ein der Wildnis des Berges mit seinen wilden Tieren, die ihm dienten, weidete und Tag und Nacht ohne die F\u00fclle des g\u00f6ttlichen Lichts genoss.\u201c .\u201c Also k\u00fcsste er ihn. Asia blieb lange Zeit in v\u00f6lligem Gehorsam bei diesem ehrw\u00fcrdigen Scheich, bis er ihn seinem Herrn \u00fcberlie\u00df.<\/p>\n<p>Als Asia seinen Lehrer in einer H\u00f6hle in der N\u00e4he begrub, blieb er drei Jahre lang auf dem Berg Tur, bis ein Engel wie Gott bei ihm vorbeikam und zu ihm sagte: \u201eFriede sei mit dir ... Unser Herr m\u00f6chte, dass du diesen Ort verl\u00e4sst, um Seinen zu zeigen.\u201c Barmherzigkeit sei mit dir ...\u201c Also ging er, ohne zu irgendetwas Zuflucht zu nehmen, und wurde sein Retter in der Wildnis, indem er seine Angelegenheiten seinem Herrn \u00fcbergab und auf Seine Planung vertraute. Die Gnade Gottes f\u00fchrte ihn in ein Dorf in der N\u00e4he von Antiochia, wo er eine Zeit lang blieb und sich die ganze Nacht und am Ende des Tages mit seinem Herrn unterhielt, und die Menschen wurden zu ihm gef\u00fchrt. Jeder, der krank oder in Not zu ihm kam, kehrte gesund, getr\u00f6stet und beantwortet zu ihm nach Hause zur\u00fcck.<\/p>\n<p>Zu seinen Wundern geh\u00f6rten die Heilung von Blindheit, Unfruchtbarkeit, starken Kopfschmerzen und verschiedenen Arten von Krankheiten, die Vertreibung b\u00f6sartiger Geister, die Befreiung der Menschen vom Schaden durch Raubtiere, die Auferstehung der Toten und die Heilung des Sohnes des Persischer K\u00f6nig und die Befreiung der Tochter des byzantinischen Kaisers Theodosius des Gro\u00dfen aus den F\u00e4ngen eines b\u00f6sen Geistes, der sie beherrschte. Als die Stunde seines Schlafes nahte, sandte Gott der Herr ihm einen Engel, der zu ihm sagte: \u201eKomm, denn der Gott und Meister der ganzen Sch\u00f6pfung ... ruft dich zu sich, damit du die ewigen Segnungen genie\u00dfen kannst, die er hat.\u201c vorbereitet f\u00fcr dich und f\u00fcr alle, die ihn lieben.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Nach drei Tagen zog er zur Wohnung aller Gefallenen hin\u00fcber oder bot dort seine F\u00fcrsprache bei Gott f\u00fcr uns an. Er wurde in der Dorfkirche beigesetzt, wo sein Schrein begann, Schmerzen zu \u00fcberwinden und Wunder und Heilungen zu vollbringen.
