Erinnern wir uns heute mit Freude an sie und verherrlichen wir Jesus, der die Menschheit liebt, wie es sich geh\u00f6rt.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

So beschrieb einer der Hymnen den Dienst der beiden Heiligen. Sie waren Gerechte und Propheten, deshalb sahen sie schon als Kind den Geber des Gesetzes.<\/p>\n

\u00dcber Simeon und Anna ist viel gesagt worden. Das einzig Konstante an ihnen ist das, was im Text des Lukasevangeliums, Kapitel zwei, gesagt wird.<\/p>\n

Simon war ein gerechter und frommer Mann in Jerusalem, und der Heilige Geist ruhte auf ihm. Es war ihm offenbart worden, den Tod nicht zu sehen, bevor er den Messias des Herrn sah. Dies brachte den Geist zum Tempel. Als Josef und Maria in Erf\u00fcllung der Scharia-Anforderungen den Jungen betraten, nahm Simeon den Jungen in seine Arme und pries Gott. Hatte Simon eine bestimmte Eigenschaft, aufgrund derer er den Jungen in die Arme nahm? Wir wissen nicht. Dann \u00f6ffnete er seinen Mund und sagte: \u201eHerr, willst du deinen Diener nicht in Frieden gehen lassen, wie du es gesagt hast? Denn meine Augen haben dein Heil gesehen, das du vor allen V\u00f6lkern bereitet hast, ein Licht zur Offenbarung der Nationen.\u201c und zur Ehre deines Volkes Israel.\u201c Nachdem er ebenfalls gebetet hatte, richtete er seine Worte an Maria und sagte: \u201eSiehe, dies ist f\u00fcr den Fall und die Auferstehung vieler in Israel bestimmt und f\u00fcr ein Zeichen, dem widerstanden wird.\u201c Und ein Schwert wird durch deine Seele gehen, damit die Gedanken vieler Herzen offenbar werden.\u201c<\/p>\n

Das war\u2019s f\u00fcr Simon. Von Hanna hie\u00df es, sie sei seine Prophetin, die Tochter Penuels aus dem Stamm Asser, einem der zw\u00f6lf St\u00e4mme Israels. Es war zu seiner Zeit fortschrittlich. Sieben Jahre lang lebte sie mit ihrem Mann zusammen, dann wurde sie verwitwet und heiratete nicht mehr. Sie war damals vierundachtzig Jahre alt, als sie das Kind Jesus empfing. W\u00e4hrend dieser langen Zeit ihres Lebens verlie\u00df sie den Tempel nicht und betete Tag und Nacht mit Fasten und Gebeten. Dann stand sie da und lobte den Herrn, und alle, die in Jerusalem auf die Erl\u00f6sung warteten, sprachen von ihm.<\/p>\n

\"Ikone<\/p>\n

Manche nennen Simon gerne \u201eden W\u00e4chter des Morgens\u201c und stellen in ihm das Bild dessen dar, \u00fcber den es in Psalm 129 hei\u00dft: \u201eUm deines Namens willen, o Herr, blicke ich auf dich.\u201c Ich habe mir deine Worte angeschaut. Meine Seele vertraut auf den Herrn. Vom Anbruch des Morgens bis zur Nacht soll Israel auf den Herrn vertrauen, denn vom Herrn ist Barmherzigkeit, und von ihm gibt es reiche Befreiung, und er wird Israel von all seinen S\u00fcnden erl\u00f6sen\u201c (5-8).<\/p>\n

Einer \u00dcberlieferung zufolge war Simon weder Priester noch Pharis\u00e4er, sondern ein gerechter und frommer Mann, etwa einhundertzw\u00f6lf Jahre alt. Das war vielleicht niedriger als der Gro\u00dfteil der Realit\u00e4t.<\/p>\n

Wie dem auch sei, man geht davon aus, dass Simon eingeschlafen ist, kurz nachdem er den Messias des Herrn gesehen hatte. Es wird berichtet, dass sein Tod im 6. Jahrhundert n. Chr., zur Zeit Kaiser Justinians, in Konstantinopel in der St.-Jakobs-Kirche gew\u00fcrdigt wurde.<\/p>\n

Was Hannah betrifft, so ist sie ein Vorbild f\u00fcr Witwen, Jungfrauen und M\u00f6nche, die an der Keuschheit festhalten, weiterhin fasten und beten und den Gottesdienst Tag und Nacht nicht aufgeben.<\/p>\n

Die Kirche gedenkt Simon des Gerechten und Anna, der Prophetin, am zweiten Tag des Einzugs unseres Herrn Jesus Christus in den Tempel, also am 3. Februar.<\/p>\n
