Rock music gains great importance in our lives because it is the dominant music of our time and is what pushes the youth of the rising generations to get lost in the mazes of the world and the evils of its immoral king. Bishop Alexander Milnet (+2005) does not present to us anything new, but he presents the information in a fun and interesting way, which is what we see in all of his books.
the introduction
“To change people’s morals and habits, nothing is better than music.”
Shu Xing, from 6th century BC
The Bible tells us that when King Saul of Israel became angry, his closest court officials brought in young David to play music on the dulcimer. [1] For the king. David's calm and melodious voice restored the king's calm and normalcy.
Now as in those days, people realize that beautiful, soft and quiet melody has a strong effect on human nature. On the other hand, contemporary music such as rock and roll – especially “heavy metal” – has the opposite effect on the listeners. It leads calm people to violence, anger and hatred. Rock and roll appeared approximately 40 years ago. [2] Throughout this period, this music turned more and more towards sexual excitement. David Goergen described this shift as follows: “The difference between the music of yesterday and that of today is the double-made jump from the back pages to the front pages of magazines.” [3] The rhythm of rock music has become the biggest cause of global gatherings, attracting hundreds of millions of people. For many young people, this music and them have become one thing, as “heavy metal” has its own unique way of life. Where deviance, drug addiction, violence and nihilism [4]. In this booklet, we will say a few words regarding the general meaning of music in a person's spiritual life. Then we will review the opinions of psychologists and doctors and some numerical statistics about rock music in the minds of young people, especially about violence and sexual excitement. Then we will present the Christian and non-Christian viewpoints and the satanic elements in some forms of rock music, and finally we will see how parents should help their children to realize the dangers resulting from the influence of this music.
The power of music
Music is one of the most expressive forms of good art in its meter, rhythm, melody and diversity of sounds. Music gives us a tone, a feeling, and a feeling of bliss that never ends. Its power includes its ability to pass with a piercing arrow into a person's heart without awareness and deals with human feelings based on its capacity. Music is able to evoke refined and noble feelings in spirits, such as contributing to liberation for the sake of prayer - and it gives us the exact opposite when it stirs up the evil spirit on the basis of lust.
Since ancient times, soft music has accompanied prayers and supplications to God (Genesis 21:4, 12:31, Judges 34:11). King David had been given by God the amazing gift of poetry, giving in his poetry many prayers and religious songs accompanied by his musical instrument. After becoming king of Israel, David began to sing his songs during religious services and appointed a system for singing and playing. Because of the great popularity that King David enjoyed, his songs and hymns became an integral part of religious services not only among the Jews of the Old Testament but even in the liturgy.[5] Church Christianity. These Psalms of David have been set to music many times in all churches, and frankly, they have beautified all our churches. The entire Bible emphasizes quiet singing, which helps create a suitable atmosphere for prayer.
Recent medical experiments have proven the beneficial effect of peaceful classical music in the progress of the healing process of patients. This is what Dr. Clyde L. Nash, a surgeon at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, expressed, and Dr. Matthew, director of one of the institutes at New York University Medical Center, confirmed the following: "We see confirmation of the effect of music in helping to avoid serious problems during illness, it increases the patient's happiness and reduces the length of his stay in the hospital." We say, of course, that music is not magic, but in the hospital and at home for young people and adults it is a powerful medicine that helps them at all times. "Music's Surprising Power to Heal," in Readers Digest, Aug. 1992. The previous article also contains facts about the benefits of peaceful music. A few years ago, a section of the American press reported several articles that dealt with the experiment of the effect of music on plants, and the result was that this music helped the plants to develop and grow as shrubs and flowers, but loud, violent music helped them to wither. In Germany, some farmers began using peaceful music while milking cows. These experiments show that humans are not the only ones who respond to musical stimuli.
The well-known philosopher Plato (427-347 BC) believed that God instilled in the human race a tendency to make and combine sounds not by chance, but by harmonious influence in the spiritual world. [6] Socrates (384-322 BC) noted the importance that music occupies in educating children, and in one of his books he wrote that the effect of music is very great, and therefore we look at its different types in comparison to its effect on the human personality.
“Music is a part of us and it also corrects our personal conduct,” wrote the 6th-century musician MS Bothers. And A. W. Toner observed: “If you are in love and listen to the wrong kind of music your inner life will wither and die.”
Dr.. Howard is former director of the Eastmont School of Music [7]: “Music is a strange and wonderful art with countless types. It is composed of a number of elements, and according to the proportion of each of these elements, it can be gentle and refreshing, vulgar and rude, philosophical and sexual. It has the power of evil as well as the power of good. Music is not only for entertainment and amusement, but it is also used in churches.” [8] It is a constant expression of the composer’s viewpoint in this life and can be a weapon for good or evil. The Lord God inspires composers with pure intentions so that their music can reach the depths of the human spirit.” Satan seeks to lead people away from the paths that lead to God.
Each person must maintain a personal flavor for music and use his or her musical sense to evaluate these pieces of music. All Christians must have the ability to distinguish between what is pure and what is immoral in music as well as in dreams and the great literary arts. We repeat: we can see the mixing of good and bad, good and bad in these musical genres. While the Christian faith sets a line for us to distinguish between them, which is the feeling, feeling, and inspiration coming from the Holy Spirit, and this is what people (believers) in our Lord Jesus Christ actually show.
Rock's mind control
All rock composers agree that what they composed contains tremendous energy [9] For example, a man named Frank wrote in Life magazine: “The ways in which this music affects the human being are many and subtle. The loud sound and the bright light are the dreadful tools of teaching atheism.” [10] One guitarist stated: “I mean it's a serious thing, my music affects the way people live, even people I don't know or have ever heard of, and it's definitely scary to have that kind of energy.” [11]
Hal Ziegler, one of the first rock distributors in the 1950s, wrote: “I am well aware that this music goes into the bodies of children because the loud rhythm affects the human body. I have known that and I have also known that there is not a single human being on the face of the earth capable of violently beating unless he is a rocker. I believe that even in their sleep and rest they hum it.”
Parents should not ignore the bad influence of rock music on their children. The personal appreciation any of these kids have for rock and roll is formed in childhood and adolescence.
Psychologists who specialize in music and its effects on humans agree on warning against rock music. The scientist John Capps wrote, showing people: “They honestly put messages that reach the human interior when you hear them from the recorder, ….. Any time you can no longer bear your head, it becomes easy for others to control you, ……… Music makes you comfortable and puts you in a good psychological atmosphere, but the hidden messages of rock make you tense and nervous.”[12]
In this context, the power of music pushes young people's lives in unstable directions. Two words from some songs are full of immoral and violent meanings and come into conflict with the natural law inside the adult mind, with the restrictions of society, and with good behavior. Clinicians should recognize the great importance of music in the lives of young people and use this music as a measure of mental and emotional health[13].
In his book, The Closing of the American Mind, sociologist Allan Bloom expresses his deep concern about the influence of rock music on children, teenagers and students. Dr. Bloom asserts that young people who do not have mature ideas about sex are unable to complete normal development. On the contrary, rock music bombards them with messages about normal and abnormal sex, pushing them towards lascivious and sexually lascivious practices. They accept this tendency on the condition that it will develop, and in Dr. Bloom’s opinion, rock music in American culture has weakened the authority of parents who are taking into consideration raising their children instead of them.[14]
“The influence of bad rock music on young people is clear,” says a school psychologist, looking at long experience. “In my ongoing sessions with them, time and time again, I see them as models of the immoral behavior of rock and roll stars. Children learn their principles from what they pick up. Song titles are on book covers, on the advertisements they stick on their bedroom walls, in the music they listen to in their cars, and on the clothes they wear.” [15]
“The sad thing is that most Christian children enjoy rock music more than Jesus Christ,” said a school teacher. “Music is the language of today’s generations. I couldn’t believe the effect until I saw it on my 12-year-old daughter, Anne. The pressure she feels to live like some rock star is unbelievable.” [16] Every day, children determine who they are with the help of a rock star. Their star affects their value among people, and their value affects what they will become. Today’s youth do not listen to rock music, but rather they taste it and live it. Is it now like an ID card? [17]
This information is documented in interviews conducted by MTV on the program “Rockumentary” directed at rock groups. The way he lives is dominated by a deviant personal life, which in turn is characterized by addiction to drugs, alcohol, sexual promiscuity, belonging to nihilism, seeking only pleasure, rebellion, anarchism and trust in magic.
On August 3, 1991, a group of musicians admitted that their rock music was ruining life, and that it had become a normal practice for them. Their way of living degraded them until they became carnal, lustful, and superficial. They finally realized that purifying their world required them to decide one of two things: either They change their way of life, that is, they prepare for death, and unfortunately, few people can understand this, while the personal lives of rock stars still attract emerging youth, or they continue with that life.
The influence of some types of rock music is very dangerous in many cases in the United States of America, which requires recording this potential danger on cassette tapes based on a decision from the official authority.[18] The American judiciary considered that there were 19 cases on the tapes that were very dangerous for the user. Many American associations and organizations, such as: the National Association for Parental Education and the American Academy of Pediatrics, have expressed serious concern about the negative impact of music heard by children and adolescents.
The rules cover typical homes equipped with mechanisms to quickly address parents' concerns:
· Musical, audio and visual media that influence society and its members - those who work in them - are mentally ill and are getting worse.
· Some types of music and music videos amount to a high degree of hidden, negatively affecting intentions. Which urges the listener to violence, tampering with public property, rape, crime, drug abuse, suicide, sacrificing human beings as offerings to God, humiliating women, children, and all human life, barbarism, brutality, permissible sex with animals, and sadism. [19] And sexual pleasure through psychological abuse and other perversions.
· Revealing and immodest clothing usually worn by teenagers and even those who have not yet reached thirteen years of age.
· Some of these clothes are available globally for any reckless, careless person of his age, especially with enough money. [20]
As a rule, we say that no matter how one deals with rock music, no one can deny its oppressive influence on the world view and behavior of young people. Video clips of rock songs, concerts and trips are as powerful as a sermon in church for the thirsty teenage youth who quickly absorbs it, and in some subsequent clips he summarizes some absolute truths about rock music. The impact of rock music on feeling, behavior and its structure in the minds of young people.
Rock music and sex
Facts indicate that rock music stimulates immoral thoughts. In the American and World News bulletin on March 19, 1990, it was said that the names of rock bands take the genitals, the arousal, and sexual diseases as their names. [21] Contemporary rock music is saturated with elements that encourage sexual intercourse outside marriage, infidelity, sadism, pleasure in harming others, homosexuality, rape, and physical attraction to corpses. Rock music usually encourages you to have sex with anyone you want [22] Clearly, elements of pornography are present in most rock music clips in a false and deceptive appearance, and therefore they are able to lure people through their charming appearance.
In parallel, there is a decline in the concepts of the woman, the mother, the virgin, and the bride. All of these have become irritating elements for sex that we cannot stop. There are many examples of rock song titles that glorify orgasm [23] When deviation appears and victory is achieved, he forces others to implement what he deems appropriate. In order not to embarrass the honorable reader, we will talk about the rest of the matters in other sections of this article.
Allan Bloom was right when he said: “Rock music is very bad. It is accused of criminality, barbaric criminality, the call to sex – not love…. The call to barbaric and naive sex… Rock music gives children on a silver platter – as they say – the adulterous entertainment industry and everything they cannot do until they grow up – according to their parents –… Most young people know that rock is a call to sex and it is not art at all…. The word implicitly and explicitly expresses the physical actions that go along with the call to sex and make them feel pleasure as if it were a natural and normal routine, which has reached its peak in children who have no imagination about love, marriage and family. It has a greater effect on them than pornography has on young people. Who does not need to see what others can do with ease? Peeping at genitals is the specialty of old perverts, active sexual relations of young people, they all need encouragement.” [24]
Rock and violence
A concert by the rock band Guns N' Roses on July 2, 1991 in St. Louis, Missouri, ended with the crowd of 2,500 young people rioting and leaving 60 people injured that night. Rolling Stone has valuable information about the participants in the concert: “They developed into an uncontrollable, angry mob, slamming into the crowd like a soda bottle, smashing chairs, tearing up trees and shrubs… The riot lasted less than an hour before a police squad was called in to restore order.”[25] This type of violence is an occasional and isolated incident.
This kind of frenzied behavior at rock concerts sometimes leads to murder. In the town of Jefferson, New Jersey, a young man named Thomas Sullivan stabbed his mother, Betty Ann, to death in the basement of their home. He set fire to the sofa, aiming to burn the entire house down and kill his father and younger brother. He ran enthusiastically and impulsively out of the house and committed suicide by cutting his wrist and bleeding from it. Throughout the week preceding this horrific massacre, Thomas had been listening to rock songs about blood and maternal murder. The police had recently learned that Thomas was a student with extraordinary talent, an amazing athlete, and a member of the Boy Scouts. He was listening to the hard metal band, and before he committed his crime, he told his friends a secret, which was that the devil appeared to him and ordered him to kill all his family members.
The various forms of violence in rock music are increasing. In the song entitled “I Kill Children” by a rock band called Dead Kennedys, we hear the following:
“I kill children.”
I would love to see them die
Kill them so their mothers cry
I crush them with my car and I love hearing them scream and feeding them poisonous candy
And he ruined their Halloween [26]
“I kill children, I smash their little heads into doors….”
On the album Waiting for Hell, the Slaughter Band sings: “For no apparent reason only Kill and kill again, Flog the living cruelly I will search for you until the end.”
Given the innate propensity for evil and criminal brutality, the song Night Prowler was Richard's motivation for killing 30 people. Richard said that that song gave him the inspiration to kill, especially the verse in it:
Nobody will warn you
No one will scream attack
You will not feel the knife until it is stuck in your back. I am the night wanderer who waits for his prey.”
One study found that 700 popular metal songs were 50% about murder, 35% about evil, and 7% about suicide. Sheila Davis, a professor of poetry writing at New York University, was convinced that “we would do well to pay attention to what pop songs are about so that we can assess not only what they are saying to society but, more importantly, what they are going to do to it.” [27] The National Council of Churches published a report on its findings that the growth in aggressive behavior among young people is a direct result of violent appeals in contemporary music and films.[28]
Similar to the aggressive mentality, this feeling of destruction and destruction appears directly among music listeners. Some rock songwriters have encouraged suicide, sometimes by insinuation and sometimes directly. [29] Offering yourself as a sacrifice and implicitly agreeing to commit suicide, and that doing so in the name of Satan will make you immortal forever, just like him. Some lyrics, especially Hard Metal, clearly mention Satan.
Lesson Dr. Hannelurer Wass, the psychological educational scientist, death and longing for death, and his study indicated that 17% of teenagers listen to music with violent connotations, while the percentage of young criminals in prisons - reformatories - who listen to it reached 40%. Aside from this, about 50% admitted during interviews that this music is degrading, inappropriate, disturbing, and drives young people to commit suicide.
These interviews with young people concluded with an important and well-known result: there is a need for parents – especially in Christian education – to monitor what their children hear and to pay attention to any signs that appear indicating the presence of deviation and deviance from the correct life. [30]
Similar research called for the National Education Association to end the approximately 6,000 teen suicides caused by nihilistic and fatalistic music. [31]
Psychologist Dr. Morton Kerlin, whose patient John McCollum became passionately interested in suicide after listening to Ozzy Osbourne records, stated: “Blood, violence, brutality and sadism make the rock industry more and more dollars, but anything can trigger an emotional outburst of impatience with over-the-top kids.” [32] It is desirable to know that millions of contemporary youth today suffer from internal spiritual disturbances.
This point is very important since it destroys the doctrine of nihilism, destroys the content of rock music, and in fact shows human tendencies in the lives of rock stars. As an example, Pink Floyd's biography The Secret Cup Saucer, which was written by two bands in ancient times, gave the leaders clear examples of the tragic human tragedy that angrily directs the lives of those who are filled with excessive glory. [33]
The author of Swarts and Impey noted that: “By talking to some musicians you become a party to the devil.” [34] Just as people have psychologists, psychics, and counselors, the pattern has become clearer as many people choose Satanism over Christianity. They want to fulfill themselves and have the ability to achieve an abundance of financial wealth. They imagine someone who is a creature capable of living a private life with a lot of wealth.”
“They are willing to die young to pay for it in cash,” said the psychologist who studies rock music. “They think if they give their lives early, they will gain everything.”[35]
The truth of this information above is very clear. It is nothing new when you read the obituaries of rock stars, as many of them died due to alcoholism, drug addiction and criminal incidents resulting from the influence of their music. [36]
Most of the names of heavy metal bands, also known as death metal, glorify death and talk about destruction and annihilation. [37]
Brown and Hendi noted: “Many crimes have been linked to the special charm of heavy metal, and another behavioral study showed that violent films made viewers more likely to commit violence immediately after viewing them.”
Heavy metal music makes adolescence, the most important stage of human life, turbulent and bad, said one of the Senate psychologists, without mentioning the essence of musical violence. “It’s like throwing gasoline on a fire of hatred and resentment, it only makes it burn more,” said Dr. Paul King, a professor of child and adolescent psychology at the University of Tennessee. According to King, more than 80% of his teenage patients have listened to heavy metal music for extended periods of time, as if it had become part of their daily routine, and they even study it with their lessons and write it on their desks and notebooks while in class. [38]
For Christians, there is no doubt that there is no respect for the sacred, there is no proper speech, there is great sexual temptation, rape, and perversion in rock music clips that nullify God's work of salvation for the world.
Rock and drugs
Beyond sex and rape, rock music encourages drug addiction. Going back in time to 1969, Time magazine published in its September 26 issue: “Rock musicians use drugs frequently and openly, and their music contains a vague reference to drugs.” Some songs, such as the Velvet Underground’s, help and encourage young people to become addicted to drugs, especially heroin. [39] Which inevitably leads to a tragic outcome. [40]
In a Life magazine report dated October 3, 1969, philosopher Jimi Hendrix, who was one of the advocates of drug use and unbridled sex, commented: “You can hypnotize people with music and when you get their weak point we can command them to do what we want them to do to us.”
Most rock stars have paid a heavy price for their addiction to drugs. Brian Jones from the Rolling Stones drowned after drinking too much alcohol, Sid Vicious from the Sex Pistols took too much drugs and died, Jimi Hendrix choked to death after drinking to the point of intoxication, and there is a list. It goes on for a long time and we cannot mention it here. Despite all that, drugs still play a prominent role in rock music, but the concern is the negative impact on the millions who hear them.
For example, one medical student concluded: “All evidence suggests that rock music promotes drug addiction, group sex, and violence.” [41]
The personal and social tragedy of drug abuse is unimaginable and rock music continues to glorify this abuse. In fact, you can discuss the issue of rock music, which is supposed to take a great deal of responsibility for the current epidemic of drug abuse. Blacksmith Stephen Curler noticed that rock music weakens a person's ability to fight carnal lust [42] Despite this, drug abuse is a huge problem in contemporary society and rock music continues to encourage it. Now is the time when all community leaders understand that rock music carries a lot of meanings that go with the trend of drug use.
Rock and magic
One can notice through the expressions of rock music that it contains elements in common with religion. This music, as an example, defines the power that rules this world. However, you will clearly say that they are not gods, but rather self-glorification, and do not oppose the destiny assigned to atheist poets. In the cultural environment of rock, there are groups that oppose and resist Christian education. Some passages from the music of heavy metal bands are performed with satanic magic movements. Those who live according to this model of music fully deserve to enter Hell through its wide, comfortable door.
Here are some examples of how religious rituals are performed during the Black Satanic Mass. During the Black Service, some participants cut off the head of a human victim and then spray the blood on those present. The group then smears themselves with the blood they took from the victim and drinks it afterwards…!!! They also bring animals to the place of sacrifice and cut their intestines into pieces.
In 1966 John Lennon boasted that Christianity would be pushed out of the way and the Beatles would become more popular than Jesus. He depicted Jesus as a caricature and called him: “Jesus Pifko… garlic-eating, drunk, stinky, grease-stained, fascist, son of a bitch, Spanish Catholic.” [43] As we all know, John died in a tragic accident in 1980. David Bowie, one of the rock stars, stated in 1976 that: “Rock music has always been Satanic music.”
Rock includes fame and promises of a prosperous future, although their songs, such as: “Am I an Evil Spirit?” “Mother” and others, glorify magical rituals and sacrifice of others as offerings, violence and religious chaos. In some blasphemous and atheist films, we find a woman standing at the foot of the cross and she looks up and finds not Christ crucified but Satan riding a weapon and hanging on the cross. The immediate impression is a distortion of the image we know of the crucifixion. Is Christ hanging on the cross the same as Satan?!!! Or is the cross a satanic symbol?!!
It is known that rock music, since its beginnings, has been revolutionary in its content, taking into account parents and the authority of society. But today many new rock bands call for the rejection of Christian traditions and principles.
David Crosby of Crosby Stills and Nash commented in an interview with Rolling Stone: “I think the only thing that should have been done was to beat the kids up…. And by that I'm not talking about kidnapping the kids, I'm talking about changing the value system of their lives, which removed them from their parents' world.” [44] Paul Kanter admitted during a tour that this music was designed to widen the gap between generations, that is, to make children distance themselves from their parents. [45]
Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones observed: “Nothing is safe, not family, not rock songs.”[46] Bon Jovi said: “I wanted to rebel against anything and everything and I just happened to discover that I could do it with the help of the rockers in the band.”[47] John Cougar stated: “I curse and swear because I know it is socially unacceptable. I hate the forced behavior that is dictated to me. That is why I hate schools, governments, and churches.”[48]
“We can’t go out there and be someone’s model but until we do we try to give our fans something to believe in,” said Nicki Success. “On our second album, a lot of people told us to cry out to the devil… A lot of people thought that song was about the devil. That’s not true. It’s about standing up to authority, whether it’s your parents, your teachers, your boss. I think it’s good and beautiful advice. But I’m sure any parent who hears it would consider it the ultimate betrayal.” [49]
Rock music is unanimous in rejecting Christian doctrines and teachings. For example, when you read a paragraph from Rock and Roll Babylon, you become just as gloomy as when you read Hollywood Babylon. Anti-Christians start from the nature of their own culture. From Jim Morrison’s sarcasm that mocks Christian prayer with extreme hatred, to Skid Ross’s “Time of Christ’s Trouble” (“Are we saved by the words of the bastard saints?!”) and even more in insulting the Christian religion, rock culture is known for its extreme hatred of the Christian faith. Ozzy Osbourne admitted: “I will not be born again as a Christian, I will be born again as Hitler.” [50] There are many citations from Heavy Metal and The Oath by King Diamond who say: “I deny Jesus Christ, the liar and the cheat, and I call upon the Christian church to scorn all its works.” Venom sings: “I have the power of all evil, I call death upon God, I sit at the right hand of my Lord Satan.” And “I drink what the priest vomits, I fuck with the dead whore, Satan is my master who calls out in praise of my profane audience.”
Billy Adol attempted suicide to show what a deceitful religion is to man. Leon Russell believed that the Christian church had done more harm to the world than any other controlling force in society and even the world at large and suggested that rock music should replace it. One of them asserted in an interview that: “It is very bad to teach children that God is not inside them, that such a God is nothing but pollution, that God is bigger than them, that God is outside them. This is a vile lie and that is what creates a great void in the lives of children.” [51] Jethro Tull's hymn 43 carried the following message: “We are our own saviors, and if Christ wants to save us, let him save himself first.” [52] There is no end to the words of atheism and blasphemy found in the texts of rock songs.
In rock music, as in heavy metal, there is a great magical influence. The great music composer Cyril Scott, as he is known, was a student of the occult religion and was happy to use music for magical purposes. Two of his books, The Influence of Music Throughout History and Ethics and Music's Secret Influence Through the Generations, were written with inspiration and guidance from the spiritual world.
In his last book, Scott tells us through his conversations with his spirit: “It occupies a high place in the elements of the development of Western music…. Soon all students of magic in all schools will realize and fully appreciate the great importance of music as a force in the magical spiritual world.” Here he has revealed much that should not be revealed, and thus he cannot lose until the great benefit to music lovers becomes clear. Scott convinced himself that: “The great beginning (in the spiritual world) is a rich and majestic plan for the future of musicians.” But what is this plan? It is the use of music as magic to contribute to the development and transformation of states of awakening, psychic abilities and communication with the spiritual world. Mr. Scott explained it as follows: “Music will in the future be used to bring people to the last end of the spiritual channel, and it will be possible to participate in the beneficial influence of their state while they attend concerts which will take the role of the sound they hear and are guided by. Music is scientifically studied and yet it will achieve its second purpose by appealing to the spirit and at the same time listening will activate their ability by means that will make them aware of themselves and quick to respond to the influence of the spirit.”
Scott concludes his book with the words of his Spirit Guide: “Today, we enter this New Age and we will sing inspired music to bring forth the spirit of unity and brotherhood and thus hasten the spiritual vibration of this planet.” Some New Age music is spiritually inspired for purely magical purposes. A group of New Age composers claim that their music is thought-provoking, develops psychic energy, changes consciousness, calls for stardom, and transforms personality. These ideas are similar to those of rock and roll musicians.
Many great rock stars have become involved in dangerous, dubious activities, not only in witchcraft but even in Satanism. We will now try to review the process of the development of their excitement. John Lennon said: “It is nice to have it as a spiritual wizard and medium…” Of the Beatles, Loco Ono said: “They look like wizards, they are not aware of what they are saying.” Heavy metal singer Mark Stewart told Circus magazine: “You can’t describe it except as a mysterious energy that comes from inner philosophical fermentations. It is just magic, nothing more…” Little Richard had a simple experience in which he became convinced that Satan was the cause and source of his existence and excitement: “I was directing and forcing people to obey by a different power… It is the power of evil that many people do not believe in. The power of Satan, the devil.” The rumors about spirits in great rock stars seem to be no coincidence. The great movie star Jimi Hendrix, who was called “the great guitar of rock,” said: “I believe I am possessed by a group of spirits.” According to Alan Douglas, Hendrix’s former girlfriend, Fayne Pridgeon, said: “He always talks about demons, about something inside him that he can’t control. He doesn’t know why he chose the art he chose, or why he said the songs he said, or sang the songs he did….. It’s just something coming from inside him.” [53]
Many rock stars practice magic, and their music describes the state of euphoria and ecstasy they reach [54] It is good to mention that many musicians have discovered some benefit in magic, sorcery, and something parallel to Satanism. Some Black Metal band names are closely associated with magic and sorcery, here are some examples: Dark Angel, Demon, Infernal Majesty and many more. [55]
Ozzy Osbourne wrote: “I never know what I'm going to do next, I just do what the spirit tells me to do, and that way I always have someone or something waiting to tell me off.” [56] Osbourne, the former Black Sabbath singer, joyfully invoked Satan at a concert in Canada. “Sometimes I feel like I’m being charmed by some outside force.” [57] Black Sabbath also erected an altar to Lucifer the Devil at their concerts. During the song “Lord of Truth,” they said that he (Satan) is the Lord of this world and the Father who knows all.
Peter Crass, the famous bassist of the rock band Kiss, declared in an interview published by Rolling Stone magazine: “I believe in the devil as I believe in God.” [58]. You can pray to either of them to get what you want.”[59]
When another musician was asked, “Where do you get the strength and the power to outline everything you put out into the world?” he replied, “It mostly comes from below, because without it there is no rock and roll.” Members of Iron Maiden have openly admitted to dabbling in magic, particularly divination.[60] One of the band's shows in Portland, Oregon opened with the words: "Welcome to the devil's sanctuary." Glenn Tipton, a member of Judas Priest, admitted that when he stands on stage he feels himself going crazy: "It's like someone is overtaking my body."[61] David Lee Roth commented in describing a Van Halen concert: “I'm going to give my soul away to them and that's what I'm trying to do, and you can do it yourself and you can pray to the evil gods.” [62]
Motley Cure frontman Mick Mars describes his band as “satanic, that’s who we are.”[63] Nicky Success returns to his band's show "Shout to the Devil" and says: "We have a skull and a pentagram and all the satanic symbols on stage... I've always been a devil flirt."[64]
Venom's Welcome to Hell album has the following lyrics on the back cover: "We own all evil and we demand the death of God, we spit on the prostrate virgin and sit at the right hand of our god Satan." Led Zeppelin's servant Jimmy, who was a master of magic, bought a large old mansion in Crawley. John Bonham, the bassist in one of the bands, died in his house, which one of his servants bought in an alley near an old factory in Windsor, London. He drank too much beer and choked on his own vomit. Heavy metal fans use amulets and charms with the above symbols. The name ZOSO means the three-headed dog, the guardian of the gates of hell. NATAS means the devil, with the letters turned backwards: SATAN.
Conclusion
Since ancient times, music has expressed the nobility of its composer. It is calm, gives joy, and helps to pray while listening. Music, like poetry, is a talent that is not of this world. It is the work of a creative talent. [65]
We read in Genesis that the angels and saints in Paradise glorify the Lord the Creator. But is music an infernal industry? If so, there is no doubt that it refers to rock and heavy metal music. This genre arouses terror and sensual physical violence. It excites the person who listens to it, and the Apostle John warns us in the Book of Revelation as follows: “Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.” [66]
The spiritually discerning person can see the satanic influence in contemporary music, in the makeup of movies and TV shows, in the revolt against Eastern spirituality, in the practice of yoga, in the growing popularity of satanic spirituality, in divination and astrology. The tentacles of the Prince of Darkness are deep and knee-deep in the lives of modern people. “By their fruit you will know them.”
Children and teenagers seem to be the main users of contemporary violent music. Unfortunately, the vast majority of them do not understand or comprehend the meaning of the lyrics they hear. It prevents them from understanding the true meaning of sex. Moreover, they are unaware of the satanic quality of this music. All they care about is something new, exciting and the exciting rhythms of rock that suit their natural instinct.
The American Academy of Pediatrics has concluded that the vast majority of contemporary music and rock movies negatively affect the health of children and adolescents, which may lead to polio, as in some ancient years. According to the Academy, long-term listening to heavy metal music causes distortion of the individual spirit, leaving a permanent wound in the soul. The soul, the meanest of all. Rock and Heavy Metal music is at the forefront of leading a movement against Christianity.
Contemporary rage music creates a deadly disease in our societies. The lyrics found in rock music are likely directed at young people in particular because they usually reject the ideas of older generations and do not find any worthy ambition in life. They display their disappointment in their parents by using this music as a form of protest and objection.
In this context, parents must adhere to their divine faith and determine their priorities with the rest of the family regarding accompanying Christian education. Do all family members pray regularly? Do they attend church services, especially masses? Do they participate in Holy Communion? Do they provide assistance on holy church holidays? Do they read the book together? Are they talking about God? If they are not, the children will leave with an empty soul and wait until their soul is satisfied with whatever comes their way.
Naturally, the influence of the environment is very strong and parents are usually very helpful in resisting it. As a result, there is a need to talk to children about these contemporary problems and make them aware of this danger. The most important thing here is to pray to the Lord and perhaps He will guide them themselves to find the way of salvation “for what is impossible with men is possible with God.”
