El nombre de San Adri\u00e1n en el mundo era Andr\u00e9s Zavalashin. Descend\u00eda de una de las familias Boyards que formaban parte del s\u00e9quito del Gran Zar Juan III Vasilievitch. Viv\u00eda en la propiedad de su familia cerca del lago Ladoga y le gustaba pescar. Mientras un d\u00eda del a\u00f1o 1494 persegu\u00eda un ciervo en el bosque junto al lago, lleg\u00f3 frente a la celda de San Alejandro Svir (su fiesta era el 30 de agosto), quien viv\u00eda en estricto ascetismo como nunca antes. visto un rostro humano durante 7 a\u00f1os consecutivos.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
El joven admiraba mucho a San Alejandro y sus esfuerzos espirituales, y comenz\u00f3 a visitarlo regularmente. Le traer\u00eda los suministros necesarios y, a cambio, recibir\u00eda valiosos consejos espirituales y orientaci\u00f3n \u00fatil.<\/p>\n
El joven Adri\u00e1n entr\u00f3 en el monasterio de Valamo con la bendici\u00f3n de San Alejandro y al poco tiempo obtuvo permiso de los padres mayores para vivir solo en la orilla oriental del lago Ladoga.<\/p>\n
All\u00ed le construy\u00f3 una iglesia, que lleva el nombre de la entrada de la Virgen Mar\u00eda al templo, y otra iglesia que lleva el nombre de San Nicol\u00e1s. Los estudiantes del monasterio se reunieron a su alrededor y \u00e9l fund\u00f3 para ellos, junto a la iglesia, un monasterio que tambi\u00e9n lleva el nombre de San Nicol\u00e1s. Los residentes de esa zona lo llamaron el Monasterio de Andrews.<\/p>\n
All\u00ed, en el bosque de la isla de Sala, situada frente a la ermita del santo, viv\u00eda un l\u00edder de banda que cre\u00f3 muchos disturbios y problemas a Adriano. Pero el hombre de Dios logr\u00f3, con su bondad y gentileza, disuadirlo de su maldad, hasta que el ladr\u00f3n lo dej\u00f3 vivir en paz y tranquilidad. Poco despu\u00e9s, un grupo de villanos traviesos atac\u00f3 al ladr\u00f3n y lo meti\u00f3 en prisi\u00f3n. De repente, estando en prisi\u00f3n, se le apareci\u00f3 San Adri\u00e1n y le dijo: \u201cPor misericordia del Se\u00f1or y en nombre de Aquel que te pidi\u00f3 que conservaras la hermandad entre nosotros, de ahora en adelante ser\u00e1s libre. " Inmediatamente, las cadenas de hierro cayeron de las manos del prisionero, quien fue liberado de sus cadenas y comenz\u00f3 a correr hacia el monasterio para agradecer al santo por sus buenas obras y bondad hacia \u00e9l. Entonces el ladr\u00f3n pronto se enter\u00f3 de que el santo hab\u00eda pasado la noche rezando y rezando por \u00e9l.<\/p>\n
Luego de estos hechos, el jefe de los ladrones se dio cuenta de que su vida corrupta lo hab\u00eda llevado a la p\u00e9rdida. Volvi\u00f3 a la fe, se arrepinti\u00f3 y se acerc\u00f3 al santo pidi\u00e9ndole que lo condujera por el camino de la salvaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
(Este ladr\u00f3n) fue ordenado monje con el nombre de Cipriano. A trav\u00e9s de sus esfuerzos asc\u00e9ticos, amor y misericordia, no s\u00f3lo obtuvo el perd\u00f3n de sus pecados, sino que tambi\u00e9n adquiri\u00f3 el talento de realizar milagros. Despu\u00e9s de su muerte, muchas personas recibieron, gracias a \u00e9l y a sus intercesiones, muchas bendiciones divinas.<\/p>\n
En 1549, San Adri\u00e1n fue convocado a la corte real de Mosc\u00fa para ser padrino de la reina Ana, hija del zar Juan IV. De regreso al monasterio, a 20 leguas de \u00e9l, fue asesinado, el 26 de agosto, por gente malvada que quer\u00eda apoderarse de los regalos que le hab\u00eda dado la reina.<\/p>\n
Nadie supo lo que pas\u00f3. Sin embargo, dos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de su muerte, el santo se apareci\u00f3 a los ancianos del monasterio y les inform\u00f3 de su muerte. Por orden suya, los monjes soltaron un caballo para que los guiara hasta el paradero de los restos del santo. Los restos fueron trasladados y depositados en la Iglesia de San Nicol\u00e1s. El 17 de mayo se conmemora el aniversario del traslado de sus restos.<\/p>\n
El monasterio qued\u00f3 abandonado despu\u00e9s de que los monjes lo abandonaron y qued\u00f3 en ruinas. En el a\u00f1o 1789, una violenta tormenta sopl\u00f3 repentinamente en ese lugar y amenaz\u00f3 la vida de uno de los monjes llamado Enocandius. Prometi\u00f3 que si sobreviv\u00eda a esta tormenta, reconstruir\u00eda el monasterio. Un mes despu\u00e9s de ocurrido este incidente, San Nicol\u00e1s, acompa\u00f1ado de San Adri\u00e1n, se apareci\u00f3 al monje Enocandio para recordarle su promesa, anunci\u00e1ndole que pronto caer\u00eda en otra nueva experiencia si no cumpl\u00eda su promesa.<\/p>\n
Al a\u00f1o siguiente, el monje Enocandius volvi\u00f3 a enfrentarse a una tormenta en el mismo lugar cerca del monasterio. A pesar de esta segunda advertencia, abandon\u00f3 la idea de restauraci\u00f3n y pospuso la promesa de realizar su proyecto. M\u00e1s tarde, Enoccandio vio en sue\u00f1os a San Adri\u00e1n salv\u00e1ndolo de ahogarse y record\u00e1ndole su promesa.<\/p>\n
Finalmente, despu\u00e9s de unos 30 a\u00f1os, el jeque Inocandios consigui\u00f3 reformar la ermita en 1817, y en 1883 se construy\u00f3 una peque\u00f1a iglesia en el lugar donde fue martirizado San Adri\u00e1n.<\/p>\n
La iglesia lo celebra el d\u00eda de su martirio (26 de agosto) y el d\u00eda en que fueron encontrados sus restos (17 de mayo).<\/p>\n
