Los bautistas admiten que \u201cno est\u00e1n de acuerdo entre s\u00ed\u201d en los detalles m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os y que no tienen una \u201cdoctrina bautista\u201d, una \u201ccreencia bautista hist\u00f3rica\u201d o una \u201cley de fe escrita\u201d. Esto no significa que los bautistas rechacen todas las leyes de fe promulgadas en la historia. Reconocen algunos de ellos, por ejemplo: el Credo de Nicea y el Credo de Calcedonia (Finley M. Graham, M.N., p\u00e1gina 4, The Biblical Position, No. 14).     En su opini\u00f3n, sigue existiendo una diferencia fundamental \u201centre una ley\u201d y una \u201cdeclaraci\u00f3n de fe\u201d. \u201cLa ley es un informe caracterizado por la autoridad y debe ser aceptado. Mientras que una declaraci\u00f3n de fe es una declaraci\u00f3n de creencias generales mantenidas sin autoridad o conformidad con ellas\u201d (M.N., p. 4; ver tambi\u00e9n Herschel Hobbes, M.N., p. 20).<\/p>\n

    En estas l\u00edneas, no revisaremos las ideas de las declaraciones de fe bautistas antes mencionadas, ni el alcance de su compatibilidad con la ense\u00f1anza ortodoxa, o la falta de ella. Pero nos limitaremos a responder a su rechazo de la doctrina ortodoxa promulgada por los santos concilios.<\/p>\n

    Quien lee los escritos de los Bautistas no tiene duda de que est\u00e1n en la misma p\u00e1gina, en muchas de sus ense\u00f1anzas, con aquellos a quienes la Iglesia ha refutado en m\u00e1s de una \u00e9poca. Esto lo prueba su dicho: \u201cEn los primeros siglos, el cristianismo enfrent\u00f3 muchos dilemas en la educaci\u00f3n y la administraci\u00f3n. Se celebraron asambleas generales para discutirlo y decidir, mediante votos -la opini\u00f3n mayoritaria- qu\u00e9 grupo ten\u00eda la opini\u00f3n correcta. Pero la historia muestra que muchos concilios no fueron correctos en sus informes, y que la herej\u00eda fue considerada repetidamente como una opini\u00f3n correcta\u201d (Robert A. Baker, Baptist Lives in History, p. 24). Esto, en resumen, contradice la verdad y su justicia extendida en las bendiciones de la historia. Su argumento, que no est\u00e1 oculto, queda demostrado por su afirmaci\u00f3n de que la fe est\u00e1 \u201clibre de modelos humanos, normas sociales, tradiciones (o la tradici\u00f3n viva, que es su mayor problema) y rituales religiosos\u201d (La Posici\u00f3n B\u00edblica, No. 14). Quien diga que la Iglesia, al aprobar (o explicar) la doctrina ortodoxa, invent\u00f3 una nueva ense\u00f1anza. Los Padres de la Iglesia, a quienes los bautistas critican violentamente, ten\u00edan la base de su defensa de la verdad como Palabra misma de Dios. Ellos, los padres, intentaron repeler las falsas ense\u00f1anzas en cada generaci\u00f3n. Su objetivo constante es aclarar la ense\u00f1anza correcta que los innovadores contradijeron (y est\u00e1n contradiciendo). Cualquiera que lea las obras de los Concilios Ecum\u00e9nicos no duda de que la base de una ense\u00f1anza correcta no fueron \u201clos votos de la opini\u00f3n mayoritaria\u201d, sino \u201cel acuerdo de los padres\u201d. Los padres de los concilios analizar\u00edan las ense\u00f1anzas contradictorias, a la luz de la Palabra de Dios, cuyo significado se aclara en la herencia viva, y juzgar\u00edan a todos, no a la mayor\u00eda, por cada violaci\u00f3n, para aclarar la verdad de Dios. Lo que confirma su integridad y fidelidad a la Palabra de Dios es que cada ense\u00f1anza que definieron o aclararon juntos fue aprobada por concilios posteriores y aceptada por el pueblo de Dios.<\/p>\n

    No sabemos c\u00f3mo los bautistas, por ejemplo, aceptan el Credo de Nicea, que contiene la expresi\u00f3n \u201ciguales en esencia\u201d, que no se encuentra literalmente en el Nuevo Testamento. Al mismo tiempo, rechazan la tradici\u00f3n, o herencia viva, y consideran. que \u201cla herej\u00eda ha contado repetidamente como opini\u00f3n verdadera\u201d. \u00bfOfender a los consejos cuyas ense\u00f1anzas no concuerdan con ellas? Esta es una contradicci\u00f3n que ellos deben revisar. Cada revisi\u00f3n supone el reconocimiento de que lo que la Iglesia de Dios ha promulgado, en sus santos concilios, es vinculante para la salvaci\u00f3n. Las creencias, entre ellas que Mar\u00eda es la \u201cMadre de Dios\u201d (Tercer Concilio Ecum\u00e9nico, \u00c9feso, a\u00f1o 431) que quien no cree en ellas se separa de la divinidad (San Gregorio el Te\u00f3logo, Ep\u00edstola 101); Y que ella es \u201cperpetuamente virgen\u201d (V Concilio Ecum\u00e9nico, Constantinopla, 553); Y venerar iconos y reliquias de los santos, que es una veneraci\u00f3n del Se\u00f1or que tom\u00f3 nuestro cuerpo y con Su muerte venci\u00f3 la muerte (S\u00e9ptimo Concilio Ecum\u00e9nico, Nicea, 787), etc., no es una fe v\u00e1lida, ni un compromiso v\u00e1lido. , a menos que uno lo adopte plenamente y viva de acuerdo con \u00e9l.
