El evangelio de Marcos no indica ning\u00fan motivo para la rendici\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas. Los evangelios posteriores (Mateo, Lucas y Juan) se\u00f1alan dos factores:<\/p>\n

En Mateo 26:14-15, Judas pregunta a los principales sacerdotes: \u201c\u00bfQu\u00e9 quer\u00e9is darme cuando os lo entregue?\u201d En Juan 12:4-6, despu\u00e9s de que Jes\u00fas fuera ungido con perfume por Mar\u00eda, la hermana de L\u00e1zaro, y despu\u00e9s de que Judas se quejara, Juan se\u00f1ala la infidelidad de Judas, diciendo: \u201cPorque era ladr\u00f3n, y ten\u00eda la caja, y llev\u00f3 lo que le arrojaron\u201d. La evidencia b\u00edblica no respalda ninguno de los motivos anteriores producidos por la f\u00e9rtil imaginaci\u00f3n de eruditos de todo tipo. Los dos motivos b\u00edblicos principales son la codicia (amor al dinero) y que Judas es una herramienta de Satan\u00e1s. Por otra parte, todos los Padres de la Iglesia ven en la persona de Judas un modelo de cristiano infiel a Jes\u00fas, y un modelo de aquel que entrega a los cristianos a los perseguidores romanos (Pastor de Hermas, Martirio de Policarius 6 :2), y esto est\u00e1 de acuerdo con Hechos 1:25 que Judas fue condenado. Dice tambi\u00e9n San Ireneo (Contra los Herejes 5:33:3-4) que Judas manifest\u00f3 falta de fe.<\/p>\n
