Il v\u00e9cut 110 ans, dont plus de 60 dans l&#039;arm\u00e9e depuis l&#039;\u00e9poque de Constantinople Chlorus, p\u00e8re de Constantin le Grand, et apr\u00e8s lui jusqu&#039;aux jours de l&#039;ingrat Julien en l&#039;an 361. Un jour, deux pa\u00efens lui demand\u00e8rent de juger entre eux dans une affaire sur laquelle ils \u00e9taient en d\u00e9saccord. Le pa\u00efen qui r\u00e9gnait contre lui le d\u00e9non\u00e7a, disant \u00e0 l&#039;empereur pa\u00efen qu&#039;Eufsinius v\u00e9n\u00e9rait le crucifi\u00e9 et qu&#039;il prenait l&#039;autorit\u00e9 de l&#039;empereur lorsqu&#039;il r\u00e9gnait sur les diff\u00e9rends. L&#039;Empereur l&#039;envoya chercher et lui demanda avec col\u00e8re : Qui vous a permis de rivaliser avec le pouvoir ? Lorsque le saint lui r\u00e9pondit qu&#039;il gouvernait selon sa foi, l&#039;empereur arr\u00eata l&#039;interrogatoire et mena\u00e7a de le tuer. Le saint lui a rappel\u00e9 ses longues ann\u00e9es de service dans l&#039;arm\u00e9e et a demand\u00e9 qu&#039;il soit soumis \u00e0 un proc\u00e8s l\u00e9gitime.<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>Lorsque l&#039;empereur se rendit le lendemain \u00e0 C\u00e9sar\u00e9e, en Cappadoce, pour recruter des soldats en vue de sa campagne contre les Perses, il emmena le cheikh avec lui. Son parent, le diacre de l&#039;\u00c9glise d&#039;Antioche, Ephestochius, le rejoignit secr\u00e8tement et, lorsqu&#039;il put l&#039;approcher, il lui demanda de nommer un secr\u00e9taire pour enregistrer son proc\u00e8s pour le b\u00e9n\u00e9fice des croyants. Le saint r\u00e9pondit qu&#039;il le ferait personnellement. mener \u00e0 bien cette t\u00e2che, m\u00eame si cela lui co\u00fbte la vie. Lorsque l&#039;empereur arriva \u00e0 C\u00e9sar\u00e9e, il ordonna au saint de compara\u00eetre devant lui. Eufsinius est arriv\u00e9, malgr\u00e9 son \u00e2ge, faisant preuve de force physique et spirituelle. Lorsqu&#039;on lui pr\u00e9senta les instruments de torture et qu&#039;on lui demanda d&#039;offrir le sacrifice au dieu Zeus, il dit : Je n&#039;offrirai pas le sacrifice aux idoles.<\/p>\n<p>L&#039;Empereur ordonna de le livrer aux bourreaux, qui l&#039;\u00e9corch\u00e8rent et br\u00fbl\u00e8rent son corps. Alors l&#039;Empereur r\u00e9it\u00e9ra sa demande, et le saint r\u00e9pondit : Vous n&#039;\u00eates pas digne de succ\u00e9der \u00e0 saint Constantin le Grand, sous la direction duquel vous avez servi et converti avec lui au christianisme. Il a \u00e9voqu\u00e9 les incidents qui lui sont arriv\u00e9s et un certain nombre de soldats pr\u00e9sents ont \u00e9t\u00e9 encourag\u00e9s et ont exprim\u00e9 leur volont\u00e9 de se convertir au christianisme.<\/p>\n<p>L&#039;ingrat Julien ordonna donc la d\u00e9capitation du saint martyr. On dit que c&#039;est saint Basile le Grand qui a enterr\u00e9 le martyr. Apr\u00e8s cela, l\u2019empereur entra en guerre contre les Perses et fut tu\u00e9 au combat. On raconte qu\u2019il dit alors qu\u2019il mourait : \u00ab Tu as vaincu, \u00f4 Nazar\u00e9en. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>L&#039;\u00e9glise lui revient le 5
