Chrysanthus \u00e9tait le fils unique de l'un des cheikhs bien connus d'Alexandrie, Polemius. Ce dernier s'installa \u00e0 Rome \u00e0 l'\u00e9poque de l'empereur romain Num\u00e9rien (283-284). L\u00e0, Chrysanthus put recevoir une dose abondante de philosophie. Lorsqu'il pensa qu'en philosophie il avait une r\u00e9ponse qui satisferait sa soif de conna\u00eetre la v\u00e9rit\u00e9, son espoir fut d\u00e9\u00e7u et il devint triste et confus jusqu'\u00e0 ce que la divine providence lui demande de trouver un exemplaire de la Bible, qu'il lut avec voracit\u00e9 et trouva. en lui ce qu'il cherchait. Apr\u00e8s cela, il rencontra un pr\u00eatre nomm\u00e9 Karpoforos qui lui enseigna la bonne foi et le baptisa.<\/p>\n

Peu de temps apr\u00e8s les conseils de Mukhtar Allah, son p\u00e8re l'a d\u00e9couvert, s'est boulevers\u00e9 et a d\u00e9sapprouv\u00e9, et a essay\u00e9 de d\u00e9tourner son fils de ce qu'il pensait \u00eatre un \u00e9garement avec de la gentillesse et des promesses, mais il n'a pas ob\u00e9i, alors il l'a enferm\u00e9. un endroit sombre et l'a soumis \u00e0 la faim. Claude et ses deux fils, lorsque Num\u00e9rien en entendit parler, les tu\u00e8rent. Il jeta Claude \u00e0 la mer apr\u00e8s lui avoir attach\u00e9 une pierre autour du cou et coup\u00e9 la t\u00eate de ses deux fils. Certains soldats de l'entourage de Claude seraient \u00e9galement morts pour la m\u00eame raison. Quant \u00e0 H\u00e9laia, elle resta en pri\u00e8re dans les sanctuaires de son mari et de ses deux fils jusqu'\u00e0 ce que le Seigneur Dieu l'inclue parmi eux.<\/p>\n
Quant \u00e0 Chrysanthus et Daria, on dit qu'ils furent tortur\u00e9s : tandis que Chrysanthus fut jet\u00e9 dans une prison infect\u00e9e, Daria fut jet\u00e9e dans un bordel, mais la gr\u00e2ce de Dieu les pr\u00e9serva indemnes. Il a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 rapport\u00e9 que de nombreux hommes \u00e9taient guid\u00e9s par leur influence. Finalement, ils furent jet\u00e9s dans une fosse profonde remplie de pierres. C\u2019est ainsi qu\u2019ils compl\u00e9t\u00e8rent leur t\u00e9moignage pour Christ.<\/p>\n
Il est mentionn\u00e9 qu'il y avait une grotte pr\u00e8s de ce trou dans laquelle les croyants se rassembl\u00e8rent, apr\u00e8s un certain temps, pour comm\u00e9morer les deux saints martyrs, mais les pa\u00efens se rendirent compte de leur affaire et vinrent rouler une pierre qui bloquait l'entr\u00e9e de la grotte. et ceux qui \u00e9taient \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur se joignirent comme martyrs \u00e0 ceux qui les pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e8rent.
