Le rejet par les protestants de la signification du bapt\u00eame chr\u00e9tien (c'est-\u00e0-dire qu'il s'agit d'une nouvelle naissance, dans laquelle le Saint-Esprit descend, les p\u00e9ch\u00e9s sont pardonn\u00e9s, etc.) les a amen\u00e9s \u00e0 inventer de nouvelles fa\u00e7ons innovantes de nouvelle, seconde naissance ou naissance spirituelle.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Na\u00eetre de nouveau\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0nouvelle naissance\u00a0\u00bb est mentionn\u00e9 trois fois dans le Nouveau Testament. Deux fois dans la conversation du Seigneur J\u00e9sus avec Nicod\u00e8me : \u00ab En v\u00e9rit\u00e9, en v\u00e9rit\u00e9, je vous le dis, si l'homme ne na\u00eet d'en haut, il ne peut voir le royaume de Dieu \u00bb (Jean 3\u00a0:\u00a03). \u00ab En v\u00e9rit\u00e9, en v\u00e9rit\u00e9, je vous le dis : si une personne ne na\u00eet d\u2019eau et d\u2019Esprit, elle ne peut entrer dans le royaume de Dieu. Ce qui est n\u00e9 de la chair est chair, et ce qui est n\u00e9 de l'esprit est esprit. Ne vous \u00e9tonnez pas que je vous ai dit : \u00ab Il faut que vous naissiez de nouveau \u00bb \u00bb (Jean 3\u00a0:\u00a05-7). De ce hadith, nous voyons que le Seigneur a montr\u00e9 que la seconde naissance est \u00ab une naissance d\u2019en haut \u00bb et qu\u2019elle est \u00ab une naissance d\u2019eau et d\u2019Esprit \u00bb. Elle est \u00ab spirituelle \u00bb et donc une naissance n\u00e9cessaire car sans elle. , l'homme ne voit pas le Royaume de Dieu. La seule naissance de \u00ab l\u2019eau et de l\u2019Esprit \u00bb dans le Nouveau Testament est le bapt\u00eame. C\u2019est ce que r\u00e9p\u00e8te encore l\u2019ap\u00f4tre Paul dans sa lettre \u00e0 son \u00e9l\u00e8ve Tite lorsqu\u2019il associe le lavage au renouvellement du Saint-Esprit : \u00ab Le lavage de la r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration et du renouvellement du Saint-Esprit \u00bb (Tite 3\u00a0:\u00a05). Le lecteur peut revoir la question relative \u00e0 la signification du bapt\u00eame (la premi\u00e8re question de ce chapitre). L\u2019ap\u00f4tre Paul a expliqu\u00e9 ce que le Seigneur a dit \u00e0 propos du bapt\u00eame : \u00ab Ou ne savez-vous pas que tous ceux qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 baptis\u00e9s en J\u00e9sus-Christ ont \u00e9t\u00e9 baptis\u00e9s dans sa mort, et que nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 enterr\u00e9s avec lui par le bapt\u00eame dans la mort, de sorte que, comme Christ a \u00e9t\u00e9 ressuscit\u00e9 des morts par la gloire du P\u00e8re, afin que nous puissions nous aussi marcher en nouveaut\u00e9 de vie ? Car si nous nous sommes unis \u00e0 lui \u00e0 l\u2019image de sa mort, nous nous unirons aussi \u00e0 sa r\u00e9surrection. Sachant que notre ancien moi a \u00e9t\u00e9 crucifi\u00e9 avec lui, afin que le corps du p\u00e9ch\u00e9 soit aboli, afin que nous ne soyons plus esclaves du p\u00e9ch\u00e9 \u00bb (Romains 6\u00a0:\u00a03-6). Ainsi : La deuxi\u00e8me naissance, nouvelle ou spirituelle, est la naissance qui se produit par le bapt\u00eame selon le Nouveau Testament.<\/p>\n

D\u2019autre part, l\u2019ap\u00f4tre Pierre mentionne la seconde naissance, en se r\u00e9f\u00e9rant \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre salvifique du Christ : \u00ab \u00catre n\u00e9 de nouveau, non d\u2019une semence corruptible, mais d\u2019une semence imp\u00e9rissable, par la parole vivante et permanente de Dieu \u00bb (1 Pierre 1\u00a0:\u00a023). ). Ici, le Messager parle de la vie chr\u00e9tienne qu'un chr\u00e9tien doit avoir, et il exhorte chaque chr\u00e9tien \u00e0 vivre en nouveaut\u00e9 de vie avec une morale chr\u00e9tienne appropri\u00e9e parce qu'il est n\u00e9 d'une semence imp\u00e9rissable \u00e0 travers la Parole vivante et \u00e9ternelle de Dieu.<\/p>\n

Par cons\u00e9quent, la deuxi\u00e8me naissance spirituelle, au sens orthodoxe, est la naissance qui se produit par l'eau et l'Esprit, c'est-\u00e0-dire par le bapt\u00eame chr\u00e9tien, comme le dit le livre. Nous naissons spirituellement par le bapt\u00eame, mais cette naissance ne nous garantit pas un salut magique tel que le comprennent les protestants. Autrement, le Nouveau Testament ne contiendrait pas, \u00e0 chaque page de ses pages, une exhortation continue aux chr\u00e9tiens \u00e0 vivre de mani\u00e8re juste et pie. d'une mani\u00e8re qui convient \u00e0 la gr\u00e2ce du salut qu'ils ont re\u00e7ue. Si la naissance spirituelle \u00e9tait une garantie de salut, le chr\u00e9tien n\u2019aurait pas besoin de se repentir par la suite ni de lutter \u00ab contre le p\u00e9ch\u00e9 jusqu\u2019au sang \u00bb, comme le dit l\u2019ap\u00f4tre Paul.<\/p>\n

Le bapt\u00eame a lieu une fois parce qu\u2019il s\u2019agit d\u2019une seule naissance spirituelle, mais nous avons besoin d\u2019une repentance quotidienne continue parce que nous p\u00e9chons constamment. La repentance dans l'Orthodoxie est une naissance continue en Christ. Notre naissance spirituelle est bas\u00e9e sur l\u2019\u0153uvre salvatrice du Christ : sur son incarnation, sa crucifixion, sa mort et sa r\u00e9surrection. Nous avons une esp\u00e9rance vivante et ferme que si nous restons fid\u00e8les au Christ jusqu\u2019au dernier moment de notre vie, le Seigneur ne nous laissera pas p\u00e9rir. Notre salut commence par le bapt\u00eame et la naissance spirituelle, la nouvelle naissance, mais il n\u2019atteindra sa pl\u00e9nitude qu\u2019au Jour de la R\u00e9surrection dans le Royaume des Cieux. Alors nous recevrons la pl\u00e9nitude de l\u2019adoption en Christ et deviendrons ses enfants. D\u00e9sormais, par le bapt\u00eame, nous recevons le gage d\u2019adoption et le gage d\u2019un salut complet. C\u2019est pourquoi l\u2019ap\u00f4tre Paul s\u2019\u00e9crie en disant : \u00ab Car nous savons que toute la cr\u00e9ation g\u00e9mit et travaille ensemble jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent. Et pas seulement cela, mais nous qui avons les pr\u00e9mices de l'Esprit, nous g\u00e9missons nous-m\u00eames aussi en nous-m\u00eames, attendant l'adoption comme adoption et la r\u00e9demption de nos corps, parce que c'est par l'esp\u00e9rance que nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 sauv\u00e9s. Mais l\u2019espoir que l\u2019on voit n\u2019est pas l\u2019espoir, car ce que quelqu\u2019un voit, comment peut-il aussi esp\u00e9rer ? Mais si nous esp\u00e9rons ce que nous ne voyons pas, nous l\u2019attendons avec patience. De m\u00eame, l\u2019Esprit aide aussi nos faiblesses \u00bb (Romains 8\u00a0:\u00a022-26).<\/p>\n

Ce texte est tr\u00e8s fort : M\u00eame apr\u00e8s notre bapt\u00eame et notre renaissance spirituelle, nous sommes toujours soumis \u00e0 des \u00e9preuves et \u00e0 des luttes, et nous avons de nombreuses faiblesses. C\u2019est pourquoi nous ne pouvons pas nous vanter d\u2019\u00eatre n\u00e9s de nouveau (\u00e0 la mani\u00e8re protestante) comme si nous \u00e9tions entr\u00e9s dans le royaume des cieux alors que nous sommes encore sur terre, p\u00e9chant quotidiennement. C\u2019est du moins ainsi que l\u2019ap\u00f4tre Paul comprend la seconde naissance spirituelle, et non \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re protestante !<\/p>\n

D'un autre c\u00f4t\u00e9, si le concept protestant de la nouvelle naissance est correct (une fois l'acceptation personnelle de la foi en J\u00e9sus-Christ), cela signifie que les baptistes, les anglicans, les t\u00e9moins de J\u00e9hovah, les mormons et... tous ont sont n\u00e9s de nouveau en Christ parce que chacun d'eux a accept\u00e9 le Christ comme son Sauveur personnel \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re protestante. Si Christ avait engendr\u00e9 chacun de ces gens, ils auraient \u00e9t\u00e9 fr\u00e8res en Christ. Les fr\u00e8res en Christ croient en une seule foi. La r\u00e9alit\u00e9 est que ces groupes croient de mani\u00e8re significative \u00e0 des croyances tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rentes les unes des autres.<\/p>\n

Ne nous \u00e9garons pas, fr\u00e8res. La seule seconde naissance mentionn\u00e9e dans le Nouveau Testament est le bapt\u00eame chr\u00e9tien. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 elle, nous naissons enfants. Nous grandissons avec la gr\u00e2ce du Saint-Esprit et l'amour des saints jusqu'\u00e0 atteindre la stature de la pl\u00e9nitude du Christ. Nous n\u2019avons pas encore atteint cette hauteur. Jean dit : \u00ab Mais \u00e0 tous ceux qui l'ont re\u00e7u, il a donn\u00e9 le droit de devenir enfants de Dieu, m\u00eame \u00e0 ceux qui croient en son nom. qui ne sont pas n\u00e9s du sang, ni de la volont\u00e9 de la chair, ni de l'homme, mais de Dieu \u00bb (Jean 1\u00a0: 12-13). Ainsi, \u00e0 ceux qui ont accept\u00e9 J\u00e9sus-Christ, Dieu leur a donn\u00e9 l\u2019autorit\u00e9, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la capacit\u00e9 de devenir enfants de Dieu. Sont-ils enfants de Dieu ? Tant que nous p\u00e9chons, nous ne sommes pas pleinement devenus enfants de Dieu parce que les enfants de Dieu ne commettent pas de p\u00e9ch\u00e9. Nous sommes, pour ainsi dire, enfants de Dieu parce que les enfants font des erreurs. Mais Christ veut que nous grandissions en Lui jusqu\u2019\u00e0 devenir des hommes spirituels. Ensuite, lorsque nous arriverons \u00e0 la fin, au Jour du Jugement, et si nous Lui restons fid\u00e8les, alors nous deviendrons pleinement enfants de Dieu et ne p\u00e9cherons plus (tout comme la convenance ne p\u00e8che pas maintenant).
