Questo \u00e8 un mito derivante dai pregiudizi di Origene, che rivendica il primato dell&#039;esistenza delle anime. Quanto a noi, diciamo che il Figlio, il Verbo di Dio, si \u00e8 fatto Cristo poich\u00e9 ha abitato nel grembo della sempre vergine santa e si \u00e8 fatto carne senza trasmutazione e la carne \u00e8 stata unta con la divinit\u00e0. Questa \u00e8 l&#039;unzione dell&#039;umanit\u00e0, come dice Gregorio il Teologo. Il Santissimo Cirillo d&#039;Alessandria scriveva al re Teodosio dicendo questo: \u201cQuanto a me, dico che non bisogna chiamare Cristo Ges\u00f9 il Verbo di Dio senza farsi uomo, n\u00e9 piuttosto il tempio nato da donna senza la sua unione con il Verbo .\u201d \u201cIl concetto di Cristo, la Parola, proveniente da Dio, e il legame con l\u2019umanit\u00e0, sono un\u2019unione indescrivibile nel mistero della gestione\u201d. Cos\u00ec scriveva alle regine: \u00abAlcune di loro dicono che il nome di Cristo si addice solo al Verbo, nato solo da Dio Padre, intelligibile ed esistente in se stesso. Quanto a noi, non ci \u00e8 stato insegnato a pensare o dire in questo modo. Piuttosto diciamo che quando il Verbo si fece carne, fu chiamato Ges\u00f9 Cristo. Allora Dio Padre lo unse con l&#039;olio della gioia, cio\u00e8 con lo Spirito (Ebrei 1:9). Per questo fu chiamato Cristo. Per quanto riguarda il fatto che l\u2019unzione sia collegata all\u2019umanit\u00e0, nessuno che sia abituato alla rettitudine del pensiero dovrebbe dubitarne\u201d. Anche il noto Atanasio in un punto del suo discorso sull&#039;apparizione divina dice cos\u00ec: \u201cIl Dio preesistente, prima della sua venuta nella carne, non era un essere umano, ma era presso Dio come un Dio che non pu\u00f2 essere visto\u201d. o spostato. Quando divenne un uomo chiamato Cristo, visse nella carne, e poi al suo nome furono aggiunte la sofferenza e la morte\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>E se il Libro Divino dice: \u201cPerci\u00f2 Dio, il tuo Dio, ti ha unto con olio di gioia\u201d (Salmo 44:8), sappi che il Libro Divino spesso usa il passato invece del futuro, come quando dice: \u201cDopo ci\u00f2 apparve sulla terra ed esit\u00f2 tra gli uomini\u201d (Baruk 3:38). Il fatto \u00e8 che Dio non era mai apparso n\u00e9 aveva esitato tra gli esseri umani quando fu pronunciata questa parola. Come ha detto: \u201cPresso i fiumi di Babilonia, l\u00e0 sedevamo e piangevamo\u201d (Salmo 136:1).
