Il devoto cristiano \u00e8 scioccato dall'intero insegnamento dei battisti sul battesimo. Lo spiegheremo in tre articoli. Dedicheremo questo primo articolo a confutare le loro affermazioni che distorcono il sacramento del battesimo. Speriamo di rispondere, in un articolo successivo, al loro rifiuto del battesimo dei bambini e di chiarire, in un terzo articolo, il collegamento tra il rinnovamento dei credenti e il sacramento del battesimo.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I battisti attribuiscono al Nuovo Testamento che \u201cesso insegna molto sulla salvezza oltre al battesimo\u201d, che \u201crappresenta simbolicamente la salvezza\u201d e non \u201cla causa in alcun modo\u201d (Herschel Hobbs, Baptist Doctrine and Message, pp. 135 e 138; J. M. Carroll, History of the Churches Baptist Church, pagina 32). Usano la parola \u201cordinato\u201d per descrivere il battesimo, evitando che sia un sacramento della chiesa. Ritengono che sia lecito accettarlo solo \u201ccoloro che si sono arresi coscientemente a Cristo\u201d, attraverso \u201cla via del pentimento\u201d e la \u201cfede personale in Lui\u201d. Il battesimo, secondo l\u2019insegnamento delle Scritture, a loro avviso \u201csegue il pentimento\u201d (Herschel Hobbs, M.N., pp. 133, 138, 139; Finley M. Graham, Systematic Theology, p. 205; The Biblical Position, No. 7; Robert A. Baker, Biografie di battisti nella storia, pagina 17). Se ci fermiamo, leggendone i riferimenti, al libro \u201cBaker\u201d, di cui abbiamo parlato qui, vediamo che egli distorce la verit\u00e0, sostenendo che il battesimo, segretamente, entr\u00f2 attraverso i primi scrittori cristiani che furono influenzati \u201cdal loro ambiente pagano\u201d e il loro ambiente filosofico\u00bb, come scriveva \u00abil martire Giustino, filosofo e convertito\u00bb. Al cristiano, vissuto alla met\u00e0 del II secolo, il battesimo completa la salvezza. Ireneo, uno dei suoi contemporanei pi\u00f9 tardi, decise che il battesimo \u00e8 una nuova nascita e che produce rinnovamento. Si attribuiva cos\u00ec al battesimo un potere magico\u201d (pagg. 25 e 33). Sebbene riconoscano che il battesimo \u201craffigura la morte, sepoltura e risurrezione di nostro Signore Ges\u00f9 (1 Corinzi 15:3 e 4)\u201d; \u201cLa morte del credente per il peccato, la sua sepoltura con Cristo e la sua risurrezione per una vita nuova (Romani 6: 3-6)\u201d, ma si rifiutano di considerarla una nuova nascita. Insistono nel farlo per immersione (1)<\/a>\u201cLa chiesa locale\u201d \u00e8 l\u2019unica responsabile di questa pratica. Non accettano il battesimo celebrato da un'altra chiesa se non a determinate condizioni, tra cui: che questa chiesa pratichi solo l'immersione e che la sua dottrina sia in accordo con la dottrina biblica del battesimo (Finley M. Graham, Systematic Theology, pp. 297-300; J. M. Carroll , Storia delle chiese battiste, pagina 18; Awad Samaan, Sacerdozio, pagine 358-367). Ma, di fatto, ribattezzano tutti coloro che si uniscono a loro.<\/p>\n

Le irregolarit\u00e0 appaiono abbondantemente in questi passaggi, o idee, prese dagli scritti di Battisti. Dicevano quello che dicevano non solo perch\u00e9 rifiutavano il battesimo dei bambini, ma anche perch\u00e9 negavano l'opera della grazia nei sacramenti. Se leggiamo attentamente i loro insegnamenti, possiamo notare due cose fondamentali riguardo a questa negazione.<\/p>\n

Il primo \u00e8 che considerare il battesimo come un simbolo rende irreale la salvezza dell\u2019uomo da parte di Dio e illusorio il suo rinnovamento. In questo contesto, non esamineremo i versetti che confutano le loro argomentazioni. Ci\u00f2 che usano senza significato \u00e8 il nostro sostegno nella nostra risposta. Cosa significa che, attraverso il suo battesimo, il credente partecipa alla morte e risurrezione di Cristo, \u00e8 simbolicamente salvato o simbolicamente rinnovato? Arif non ignora che la parola \u201csimbolo\u201d non \u00e8 apparsa nel Nuovo Testamento per descrivere il battesimo e gli effetti dei sacramenti nel loro insieme. Dicono di fare affidamento sui suoi libri! Ma in realt\u00e0 proiettano su di esso idee preconcette o ci\u00f2 che ritengono giusto. Ci\u00f2 non si addice alla parola di Colui che ci ha redento con la sua morte e risurrezione, e ci ha aperto la strada del vero rinnovamento accogliendo la sua redenzione mediante lo Spirito Santo, che guida i misteri della Chiesa, ci unisce e ci ravviva con le sue grazie (1 Corinzi 12:12-14; Efesini 4:4-6).<\/p>\n

La seconda cosa \u00e8 che ripetono il battesimo dei cristiani che si uniscono a loro. Questa \u00e8 una chiara contraddizione con l\u2019eredit\u00e0 cristiana. Se il battesimo \u00e8 partecipazione alla morte e risurrezione di Cristo (Romani 6:3 e 4; Colossesi 2:12), e Cristo mor\u00ec una volta e risorse per sempre, allora come possono accettare che una persona muoia due volte con Cristo e risorga? due volte? Non si tratta di una violazione di quanto affermato nella Costituzione della Fede (e di un solo battesimo per il perdono dei peccati), che i battisti pretendono di riconoscere come validit\u00e0 del suo insegnamento? E contraddice la base adottata dai padri quando scrissero l\u2019insegnamento sul battesimo, cio\u00e8 ci\u00f2 che disse l\u2019Apostolo: \u201cE c\u2019\u00e8 un solo Signore, una sola fede e un solo battesimo\u201d (Efesini 4:5). E se volevano imitare la Santa Chiesa, che restaurava il battesimo degli eretici e impediva ai suoi fedeli di ricevere il battesimo per mano degli eretici (vedi: Il Primo Concilio Ecumenico, Legge 19; Il Concilio di Latakia, Secolo IV, Legge 8; Il Secondo Concilio Ecumenico, Legge 7; Il Concilio del Trullo, Legge 95, Leggi 47 e 68...), quindi c'\u00e8 una differenza tra loro e loro. Ma se riconoscono solo il battesimo che compiono, allora lo lasciamo giudicare al lettore!<\/p>\n

Allora chi legge l'insegnamento dei battisti non dubita che il loro rifiuto degli effetti del battesimo si basi non solo sulla loro errata lettura dei Libri Sacri, ma anche sui peccati che colpiscono alcuni dopo aver ricevuto il sacramento. Questo \u00e8 rifiutato dalla nostra eredit\u00e0, che ha rifiutato di condannare chiunque altro. Viene rifiutato dal sano insegnamento che accompagnava i santi segreti nella spiegazione e nel chiarimento. \u00c8 noto che l'eresia degli gnostici, diffusasi ampiamente nel II secolo, adott\u00f2 questo stesso argomento per criticare il sacramento del battesimo. A ci\u00f2 rispose a suo tempo lo studioso Tertulliano (155-225), il quale rispose alla gnostica Cantela, che irrideva il battesimo per lo stesso motivo menzionato, dicendo: \u201cMa noi, i pesciolini, che abbiamo preso il nome da Ges\u00f9 Cristo , nascono nell'acqua, e non si salvano se non se restiamo in essa\u201d (Sul Battesimo, capitolo primo). Il fatto che alcuni cristiani commettano errori dopo aver ricevuto il sacramento del battesimo non consente una critica al sacramento. Questa \u00e8 la stessa magia. I battisti sono maghi se credono che il battesimo preservi la persona che lo ha ricevuto senza la sua sincera volont\u00e0.<\/p>\n

Resta da chiarire la loro affermazione: la fede personale in Cristo e il pentimento vengono prima del battesimo. Ci\u00f2 vale se la persona che richiede il battesimo \u00e8 maggiorenne. Nella chiesa primitiva, a un adulto che stava per ricevere il battesimo veniva chiesto: cosa vuoi dalla chiesa? Lui risponde: Fede. Ma non \u00e8 valida se la persona a carico \u00e8 un figlio. Il battesimo dei bambini si basa sulla salvezza di Dio, che Egli ha donato gratuitamente a tutte le persone, siano esse giovani o anziane. Questo \u00e8 ci\u00f2 che spiegheremo, con l\u2019aiuto di Dio, nel prossimo articolo.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
