Seguiu com entusiasmo as li\u00e7\u00f5es da Escola de Educa\u00e7\u00e3o Crist\u00e3 de Alexandria e estudou com seus professores mais famosos, como Pantenius e Clemente de Alexandria. Ao retornar ao seu pa\u00eds, declarou sua f\u00e9 em Cristo, apesar do risco de ser preso durante a persegui\u00e7\u00e3o aos crist\u00e3os pelo imperador romano S\u00e9timo Severo no ano 202 dC. Esta biblioteca \u00e9 considerada a biblioteca crist\u00e3 mais antiga. Eus\u00e9bio, autor da \u201cHist\u00f3ria da Igreja\u201d, teve acesso a esta biblioteca. No ano 215-216, Or\u00edgenes fugiu de Alexandria e refugiou-se em Cesar\u00e9ia Palestina como resultado da persegui\u00e7\u00e3o ordenada por Caracala. O Bispo de Cesar\u00e9ia, Teoctisto, e o Bispo de Jerusal\u00e9m, Alexandros, o receberam. Pediram-lhe, juntamente com outros bispos, que explicasse as Sagradas Escrituras \u00e0 maioria dos crentes, e ele o fez. As pessoas mais famosas que leram sobre Or\u00edgenes foram Greg\u00f3rio, o Maravilhas, e seu irm\u00e3o Athendorus e Vermiliano da Capad\u00f3cia.<\/p>\n<p>Quando a persegui\u00e7\u00e3o de D\u00e9cio come\u00e7ou em 249-251, os soldados o detiveram e o enviaram para Cesar\u00e9ia na Palestina, onde o jogaram \u00e0s feras para devor\u00e1-lo.
