\"SantoAlexander Yaroslavich \u00e9 o quarto filho do Gr\u00e3o-Pr\u00edncipe Yaroslav II Vsevolovich de Vladimir. Ele nasceu em 30 de maio de 1219 dC em Pereslavl-Zalessky. Ele \u00e9 neto de Vsevold III. Sendo o quarto da dinastia, ele n\u00e3o tinha chance de suceder seu pai na coroa de Vladimir.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Em 1239, casou-se com Alexandra, filha do Pr\u00edncipe de Polotsk. Depois que seu pai foi envenenado durante sua visita ao Grande T\u00e1rtaro (Mongol) Khan Uziday em 1246, Alexandre o sucedeu no Principado de Vladimir.<\/p>\n

Em 1236, os l\u00edderes de Novogrado nomearam-no comandante-chefe do ex\u00e9rcito para enfrentar os invasores suecos e alem\u00e3es. Naquela \u00e9poca, Novogrado era um importante centro comercial. Em 15 de julho de 1240, Alexandre e seu ex\u00e9rcito surpreenderam o ex\u00e9rcito sueco em uma batalha na conflu\u00eancia dos rios Izora e Neva. Ao derrotar os suecos, Alexandre p\u00f4s fim \u00e0s invas\u00f5es do norte e aumentou a sua influ\u00eancia pol\u00edtica sobre a R\u00fassia. No entanto, esta vit\u00f3ria n\u00e3o fortaleceu as suas rela\u00e7\u00f5es com os pertencentes \u00e0 aristocracia na R\u00fassia, o que o for\u00e7ou a deixar Novogrado rapidamente. Como resultado de sua vit\u00f3ria, Alexandre, ent\u00e3o com dezenove anos, foi nomeado \u201cNevsky\u201d em homenagem ao Neva. <\/p>\n

Mais uma vez, Alexandre e seu ex\u00e9rcito conseguiram deter os invasores, desta vez na famosa batalha no Mar de Peipus, perto de Boskov, em 15 de abril de 1242. Ao derrotar os cavaleiros alem\u00e3es e suecos, Alexandre interrompeu seu avan\u00e7o em dire\u00e7\u00e3o ao leste. No entanto, travou v\u00e1rias outras batalhas com os suecos, incluindo a sua derrota em 1256, quando tentaram impedir o isolamento de Novogrado do Mar B\u00e1ltico. Al\u00e9m desta vit\u00f3ria, Alexandre fortaleceu a defesa das terras russas no noroeste ao concluir um tratado de paz com a Noruega em 1251.<\/p>\n

Naquela \u00e9poca, as for\u00e7as t\u00e1rtaras (mong\u00f3is) invadiram terras russas, rastejando pelo norte e pelo sul, e destru\u00edram grandes cidades como \u201cYaroslavl, Vladimir, Chernigov e Perbeslavl\u201d. Eles tamb\u00e9m transformaram Kyiv numa pequena aldeia. Alexandre ent\u00e3o percebeu que a resist\u00eancia era in\u00fatil, ent\u00e3o optou por se comprometer e cooperar com os t\u00e1rtaros. Quando os t\u00e1rtaros chegaram em 1247 para receber tributos, Alexandre confiou em seu status para convencer os cidad\u00e3os da regi\u00e3o de que pagar o imposto (tributo) era a melhor solu\u00e7\u00e3o nessas circunst\u00e2ncias dif\u00edceis. Quando, em 1263, algumas cidades se recusaram a pagar tributos aos cobradores de impostos t\u00e1rtaros, Alexandre fez a sua quarta viagem ao quartel-general t\u00e1rtaro, para implorar ao c\u00e3 que parasse o movimento do ex\u00e9rcito t\u00e1rtaro em dire\u00e7\u00e3o a Novogrado. O seu sucesso nesta miss\u00e3o foi o maior servi\u00e7o que prestou ao seu povo.<\/p>\n

Ele adormeceu no Senhor em 14 de novembro de 1263, no caminho de volta para sua terra natal. O metropolita Vladimir Cyril anunciou a not\u00edcia de sua morte na catedral assim que chegou, dizendo: \u201cMeus amados filhos, saibam que o sol da R\u00fassia se p\u00f4s\u201d.<\/p>\n

Numa \u00e9poca cheia de turbul\u00eancias e guerras, Alexander Nevsky defendeu a sua terra e o seu povo com grande coragem. Ele tamb\u00e9m conseguiu preservar a integridade de sua terra. Ao abdicar diante dos mong\u00f3is, Alexandre conseguiu salvar Novogrado e as terras da R\u00fassia da destrui\u00e7\u00e3o. A Igreja Russa o canonizou em 1547.<\/p>\n
