He began to speak to them about the living God, the Creator of heaven and earth. The soldiers arrested him and the governor ordered him to offer sacrifices to the idol. Chryscandus refused, so they hung him, beat him and tortured him.
ثم ألقوه في النار فصلى من أجل جلاديه فإذ بملائكة منيرة تظهر محدثة إياه ومشجعة، ونتيجة ذلك رمى الجنود مشاعلهم وهتفوا لإله المسيحيين، فلما حصل اضطراب قبضوا على الجلادين وألقوهم في الماء فغرقوا. أما قديسنا فأسلم الروح في النار دون أن تمسه بأذى. كان ذلك على الأرجح في القرن الثالث الميلادي.
