Dearly Beloved, today we have heard the news and of joy, and we repeat it, “...a joy to be shared by the whole people.” “That God’s love for us was revealed when God sent into the world his only Son so that we could have life through him; this is the love that I mean: not our love for God, but God’s love for us when he sent his Son to be the sacrifice that takes our sins away.” (1 John 4:9 ff). We are called to be other “angels,” messengers of this joyful news
We are at the same time like the shepherds to whom the message was spoken and who then proclaimed this to others. We show the message by our lives, by living in holiness and virtue in the presence of God and of our neighbor. Indeed
standing together with the shepherds and hearing the divine message from the angel, in the joy of the event, let us cry out
“Glory to God on high, for the Savior has been born to us”

Always in Christ
your Brother and
Unworthy of His Glory

Listen to Saint Isaac the Syrian in his Nativity Sermon, and let us depart from the Eucharist bearing the divine
peace of Christ into our homes and nation
This Christmas night bestowed peace on the whole word; so, let no one threaten
This is the night of the Most Gentle One, let no one be cruel
This is the night of the Most Humble One, let no one be proud
Now is the day of joy, let us not revenge
Now is the day of good will, let us not be mean
In this day of peace, let us not be conquered by anger
Today the Bountiful One impoverished himself for our sake; so let us invite the poor to table
Today we received a gift, for which we did not ask; so let us give alms to those who implore and beg
This present day cast open the heavenly doors to our prayers; let us open our door to those who ask our forgiveness, Amen
