Artamon was born into a noble family of Pisidian Seleucia. When the Apostle Paul passed through the city preaching the Gospel, Artamon recognized him and was attracted by his words. He left everything and joined him, and endured hardships and restrictions like him. The Apostle made him bishop of his homeland, Seleucia. He fought the good fight, guiding and caring for his people. He slept in peace in the Lord after being satisfied for several days.
The Church commemorates him on March 24.

The deeds of truth have shown you to your flock as a rule of faith, an image of meekness, and a teacher of restraint, O Father Artamon. Therefore, through humility you have attained exaltation and through poverty you have attained riches. So intercede with Christ God to save our souls.
