The major church fasts that the Holy Church has determined are four, and they are: the Easter fast (which is the most famous and practiced among Christians in our country), the Apostles’ Fast (which begins eight days after Pentecost and ends with the feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul on June 29), the Our Lady’s Fast (from August 1 to 15), and the Nativity Fast (which lasts for 40 days and ends with the Feast of the Nativity).
