مخطط خلق العالم الذي وجد أزلياً بحسب مشيئة الثالوث الأقدس الأزلية تحقق في الزمن بمساهمة كل من الأقانيم الثلاثة في عمل الخلق الواحد الصادر عن الإله الواحد. فالآب هو السبب الأول الذي منه الكل: “لكن لنا إله واحد الذي الذي منه جميع الأشياء ونحن له” (1كو8: 6). والابن هو السبب الذي به الكل: “ورب واحد يسوع المسيح الذي به جميع الأشياء ونحن به” (1كو8: 6 أنظر أيضاً يو1: 3 وكولو1: 16). والروح القدس هو السبب الذي فيه الكل كما يعبر القديس اثناثيوس: “إن الآب بالابن في الروح القدس يصنع الكل” (انظر أيوب33: 4، مز33: 6).
أو كما يوضح القديس باسيليوس الكبير: “الآب هو السبب الأول لكل المخلوقات، الابن هو السبب المباشر بينما الروح القدس هو السبب المكمل. هكذا فكل المخلوقات حصلت على وجودها بفعل إرادة الآب، وأتت إلى الوجود بعمل الابن ويتكمل وجودها بحضور الروح القدس”.
هذه الحقيقة ذاتها ترتلها الكنيسة في عيد العنصرة: “قوة واحدة، جوهر واحد، ألوهة واحدة، نسجد لها جميعاً قائلين: قدوس هو الله الذي خلق الكل بالابن بمساهمة الروح القدس”. وتظهر بجلاء في دستور إيمانها العام: “أؤمن بإله واحد آب ضابط الكل خالق السماء والأرض……… وبربٍّ واحدٍ يسوع المسيح ابن الله الوحيد الذي به كان كل شيء…… وبالروح القدس المحيي”.
