The Stornions Heresy

Among those who also appeared in the era of the Apostles was Storninus, who taught in Antioch during the reign of Emperor Traianus (98-117), and he enjoyed significant success. He said that in one God, the Father created the powers and the angels and their leaders. Seven of these angels created the visible world, and then they were destined to give a vision to the Supreme God, so they created man in the image of this God, but they made him crawl.

So the Supreme God extended his compassion and tenderness to him because he was like him, so he ordered him to stand up and walk on his feet - the human being. What is also attributed to him is that he made the God of the Jews one of these angels and made the rest the source of inspiration for the prophets and sometimes included Satan in this revelation. He made the seven angels in constant conflict with the Supreme God, and He also made this God separate himself as a Savior in order to eliminate these angels and save man and those humans who were fortunate enough to receive from the Supreme God a blessing that would enable them to be saved. The Savior, in Stornin's view, was not born humanly and did not have a human body.

He also taught that marriage and procreation were the works of Satan, and he imposed strict chastity and asceticism, and did not claim divinity, which is why he was popular in Antioch, where he taught.
