قام في النصف الثاني من القرن الثالث في خلقيس (مجدل عنجر) يمبلخوس العيطوري يدعو إلى الافلطونية الجديدة ويدافع عنها ويعطي الناحية الدينية في الافلاطونية الجديدة المقام الأول. وهو تلميذ بورفيريوس أخذ عنه في روما ودرس الرياضيات على اناتوليوس وعاد إلى وطنه الأصلي يعلم في اباميه وفي مجدل عنجر. فقال بصدور الموجودات بعضها عن بعض. ورأى أن افلوطين حين سمَّى الواحد الأوحد خيراً بالذات قيَّده بصفة فوضع فوقه واحداً غير معين ووضع بعده العالم المعقول فأصبح لديه “حدود” ثلاثة. وجعل العالم المعقول ثلاثة حدود أيضاً العقل والص
