The Church's war, then, is not against the body but against its passions. If the man of the new creation is freed from his corrupt passions, his senses and his entire body will become pure and enlightened, and everything around him will shine with the love and glory of God. In the lives of the saints of our Church there are examples of liberation from the slavery of passions.

The Church is the link between humans themselves, and between them and God, in the image of the partnership existing between the Holy Trinity. In this sense, there was a Church in Paradise, but the fall of man from the first communion led to the transfer of the Church from Paradise to earth.

ليس الروح القدس غريباً عن طبيعة الآب، فهو يأتي من جوهره، أي أن كلاهما من جوهر واحد. لا يستطيع الإنسان أن يصل إلى هذه الحقيقة بمفرده، ولا بدّ أن يرشده الروح القدس نفسه، ولا نستطيع أن نضع له حدوداً، أو أن نفصله عن الآب والابن.

We have seen that the nature of man itself was transformed, as a result of the fall. Consequently, Adam passed on to his descendants a heavy legacy, for he bequeathed to them a sick and worn-out nature, whose lot is death and corruption. So how can the descendants of Adam, that is, all of humanity, be saved?

ما أن سقط الإنسان حتى بدأ مغامرته الكبرى. فالمحبة التي كانت تربطه بالله وبسائر الخليقة انفصمت وانقسم كل شيء في داخلها. والإنسان نفسه تجزأ، وبعدم رجوعه إلى الله صار كائناً أنانياً.

الإنسان مخلوق إذن على صوره الله المثلث الأقانيم. وهذا يعني وجوب معرفة الله من أجل الوصول إلى معرفة حقيقة ماهية الإنسان وطبيعته الخاصة، لأن الله هو نموذج الإنسان، ويعني أيضاً أن الإنسان ليس النموذج بل صورة له.
