في أن في المسيح مشيئتين وفعلين: فيما نعترف بأنّ ربّنا يسوع المسيح هو نفسه إله كامل وإنسان كامل، نقول بأن له هو نفسه كل ما للآب ما عدا عدم الولادة، وأن له كلّ ما لأدم الأول ما عدا الخطيئة وحدها، ذلك أنّ له جسداً ونفساً ناطقةً وعاقلة، فإن له هو هو نفسه -في مقابل الطبيعتين الاثنتين- الخواص الطبيعية لكلّ من الطبيعتين الاثنتين: أي مشيئتين طبيعيتين اثنتين، إلهية وإنسانية. وفعلين طبيعيين اثنين، إلهي وإنساني. وحريّتين طبيعيتين اثنتين، إلهية وإنسانية. وحكمة ومعرفة إلهيتين وإنسانيتين. فهو مساوٍ لله الآب في الجوهر ويشاء ويفعل بحرية الله. وبما أنه مساوٍ للإنسان في الجوهر، فهو يشاء ويفعل بحرية كالإنسان نفسه. فالعجائب عجائبه والآلام آلامه.
