He is one of the minor prophets, and his name means (Comforter), and he is the author of the seventh prophecy in the series of Old Testament prophecies. He was from Alqosh in Galilee, from the tribe of Simeon, one of the twelve tribes of Israel, and an authentic poet whose style was pure and uncomplicated.

In the days of Hezekiah, the angel prophesied after the destruction of Samaria in 721 BC. He prophesied about Nineveh and warned of its destruction. Nineveh is the city to which the Lord sent Jonah as a warning and a caller to repentance. He also prophesied when he said: “Behold, on camels came a bringer of good tidings and a proclaimer of peace.” Celebrate your feasts, O Judah, and fulfill your vows, for the destroyer will no longer pass through you. He is all cut off.” Nahum 10:15.

The date of writing his book is between 663 and 612 BC
