الفصل الثالث والعشرون - الأيقونات المقدسة

لقد مُنع شعب العهد القديم من صنع الأصنام وعبادتها، هناك عدة نصوص توضح هذا الأمر، إلا أن بعض الهراطقة يفصلون الجزء الأول من تلك النصوص عن الثاني ويحرِّفون تفسيره. ظهر الله في العهد القديم بواسطة الأفعال، وتكلم بأفواه الأنبياء. أمّا في العهد الجديد فقد تجسَّد كلمة الله "ورأينا مجده"، وأقام علاقة شخصيّة معنا، لذلك نستطيع أن نصوِّر شخص المسيح في الأيقونة.
